Naas Racing Tips (Sunday 23 August 2026)
Naas’ card features Group 3 action, but it is to the racing afterwards that Andrew looks to for his two best bets on the card.
4.30 Naas – Tawaazon (1pt e/w – 17/2 bet365)
Tawaazon caught the eye when fourth of 15 under 7lb apprentice jockey Terry Casey over course and distance on August 3rd, racing wider than ideal and challenged from further off the pace than the trio who beat him. The winner (“prominent towards far side”)|, runner-up (“prominent towards far side”) and third (“prominent up the centre”) were drawn in stalls 3, 2 and 6 whereas Tawaazon (“towards rear but in touch with leaders up the centre”) came from stall 8. Chris Hayes is back on board for the first time since his half-length second of 21 over course and distance in June when he raced up with the pace.
5.30 Naas – Ob La Di (1pt win – 7/2 bet365)
Hat-trick seeker Minella Rockett is on my radar for this 1m2f handicap, but the bet is Ob La Di who returned form when a best-of-the-closers second over 1m5f at Leopardstown last month. I wrote up Johnny Murtagh’s mare after her 12th of 16 at Leopardstown last October where she could be forgiven her effort as she made the running in the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail and we can probably expect a more positive ride today, as she made virtually all when scoring here last summer. Both her wins have come in the month of August and her stall 3 draw looks useful.
