There’s some decent quality National Hunt racing taking place on Friday 20 March, with Newbury and Musselburgh providing some eye-catching events. Our Friday Night Live tips from Wolverhampton are already live, but our GG Lucky 15 focuses on the afternoon racing.
Check out our four top tips for Friday, as we look to head into the weekend on a positive note.
Newbury Racing Tips (Friday 20 March 2026)
Seven races take place on Friday at Newbury, with a 2pm start. Check out our best bets on the card here.
2.30 Newbury – Fresh Kicks (1pt win – 9/4)
Captain Bellamy is likely to prove popular in the 2.30pm at Newbury, but the Paul Nicholls-trained seven-year-old has failed to perform consistently throughout his career and off top weight here could struggle. Nicky Henderson’s Fresh Kicks looks the one to side with, as he makes his chasing debut. Last seen finishing second at Ludlow, when well fancied, the Seven Barrows inmate is one that could improve for a switch to chasing. Rated 118 for this event, he’s one that could be significantly better than that mark in time, and in receipt of weight from Captain Bellamy then Henderson’s charge can reign.
3.32 Newbury – J J Moon (1pt win – 7/1)
Peacenik and Supreme Malinas set the standard in the 3.32pm Newbury event. However, they could be worth taking on with Emma Lavelle’s J J Moon, who could prove to be the value alternative. The seven-year-old racked up two wins at Newton Abbot and Exeter earlier in the season, but has since struggled. Pulled up at Doncaster last time out, he’d previously ran well at Newbury when third in November. He’s 2lbs higher here, but a return to Newbury could see him return to form and he’s worth taking a chance on.
Musselburgh Racing Tips (Friday 20 March 2026)
There’s only six races at Musselburgh, but there are some competitive Final races taking place throughout the card. See our two best bets at the Scottish venue.
3.55 Musselburgh – Keyboard (1pt win – 7/1)
Adam Nicol’s Keyboard has been knocking on the door over hurdles, but can finally get his first win over timber in the 3.55pm contest. Second over two miles here back in February, he then followed that up with a third placed finish at Kelso. Switching to the handicap sphere here, he takes his chance off a lowly mark of 107. In at the bottom of the weights, it’s the step up in trip that could really bring on some improvement and with Joshua Thompson taking another 5lbs off his back then he could really make notable waves off a featherweight.
4.30 Musselburgh – Monsieur Le Fuzz (1pt win – 10/1)
Monsieur Le Fuzz appeared to recapture his best form last time out when second at Catterick and a 2lbs rise may not be enough to stop the Rebecca Menzies-trained raider from landing the 4.30pm race. He’s only 1lb higher than his last winning mark, which came at Ayr, but with the visor applied on Friday he could be more than capable of building on that last run. Plenty line up with a chance in this competitive event, but Menzies’ charge can deliver the goods and storm to victory.
