Newcastle Racing Tips (Sunday 15 February 2026)
A bumper eight-race card is available for punters at Newcastle on Sunday. Andrew opts for a 2pt win selection in the 2.12pm contest.
2.12 Newcastle – The Craftymaster (2pt win – 2/1 generally)
The Craftymaster has a good record in the December to March period, landing eight of his 22 such starts for a profit of £3.90 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£7.96 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). When running in Class 5 or lower company on the back of a top-three finish his record becomes 21111112151 (8-11) for a profit of £14.90 (+£18.96 at BSP). His record immediately following a win in his peak period stands at 111112 (5-6) and he looks a solid play under his 5lb penalty having won by three lengths at Chelmsford last week.
Punchestown Racing Tips (Sunday 15 February 2026)
There are another eight races over the sticks at Punchestown. Andrew’s best bet of the day lines up in the 3.00pm race.
3.00 Punchestown – Zeus Power (1pt win – 9/2 bet365, 4/1 general)
It might be worth opposing the pair at the head of the market in this Listed novices’ hurdle – Lazare de Star, beaten when odds on at Navan last time, wears a hood for the first time, while Cheltenham Champion Bumper winner Heads Up has been beaten at short odds the last twice after failing to settle. Zeus Power, conqueror of Lazare de Star at Navan last time was too green to do himself justice when an 11-1 second of 16 in a 2m4f Thurles maiden on his hurdling debut and is two from two at 2m since. Trainer Joseph O’Brien does well with his runners over obstacles in Class 1 races in Ireland, scoring with 46 of the 354 runners (13% strike-rate) for a profit of £44.03 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£178.54 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). No meat feat given he’s usually taking on Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott.
