Punchestown & Fontwell Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday 11 January 2026

Another quiet day’s racing is expected with Punchestown and Fontwell looking to beat the weather and host a brace of National Hunt fixtures on Sunday 11 January.

Our Lucky 15 tips for Sunday focus on the jumping action, with some decent Graded action at Punchestown where there could be some notable Cheltenham Festival clues emerging from the Irish track.

Punchestown Racing Tips (Sunday 11 January 2026)

There’s Grade 2 and Grade 3 action during Punchestown’s afternoon card on Sunday, with the former being a fascinating Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle, which has been a race that has thrown Supreme Novices’ Hurdle contenders up down the years.

12.50 Punchestown – Predators Gold (1pt win – 6/4)

Willie Mullins and Paul Townend claimed victory in this race 12 months ago with Lecky Watson and the Closutton pairing can taste more success in the Grade 3 Sky Bet Super Sub Novice Chase at 12.50pm with Predators Gold. Fifth in the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham, he then built on that effort when third in a Punchestown Grade 1 novice hurdle, but it looks like the chasing sphere is where he will improve. He won a beginners chase in decent fashion at Navan, where he beat the highly respected pair of Wingmen and Slade Steel, and with more improvement set to come over the larger obstacles he can down the likes of Jacob’s Ladder and Pure Steel here.

1.50 Punchestown – Evies Vladimir (1pt win – 14/1)

Gavin Cromwell’s Evies Vladimir appeared to turn a corner last time out when second at Navan, and if he can build on that effort on Sunday then he looks capable of going close in the Sky Bet Extra Places Amateur National (Q.R.) Handicap Chase ay 1.50pm. Pulled up three times prior to that outing, he was gradually dropped in the handicap, and he’s only been given a 2lbs rise for that run at Navan, so a mark of 116 could be potentially workable. Gordon Elliott’s Gringo D’aubrelle was a winner last time out and sets the standard, but if Evies Vladimir can replicate that Navan run the he could well play a starring role.

2.20 Punchestown – Road Exile (1pt win – 7/4)

A runaway five-length winner of the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot, Sober will now look to show his class over timber and is a red-hot odds-on favourite for the Grade 2 Sky Bet Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at 2.20pm. If he can replicate that sort of form over obstacles then he looks the one to beat and is a very exciting jumping recruit for the Mullins team. However, he’s worth taking on with Gordon Elliott’s Road Exile, who has more experience over hurdles and was a winner last time out at Navan. This is much tougher, but he shaped with real promise during that victory and looks a contender that will continue to improve as he gains confidence. He will have his work cut out to get the better of Sober, but if there are any chinks in the armour of the Mullins raider then Road Exile can capitalise on them.

Fontwell Racing Tips (Sunday 11 January 2026)

Seven races take place at Fontwell with the action kicking off at 1.00pm and ending at 4.00pm. Our solitary selection at the track comes in the 3.30pm contest.

3.30 Fontwell – Summer In Milan (1pt win – 9/4)

Second in a three runner race at Plumpton on his last outing, Summer In Milan has been given a real chance by the handicapper as he’s been dropped a further 1lb, so lines up in the 3.30pm at Fontwell off a mark of 94. His last win came off that same mark – albeit over hurdles – but he has shown a huge level of consistency throughout his career, and he can prove to be too good for his rivals in this mediocre race.
