Punchestown Racing Tips (Sunday 15 February 2026)
Eight races take place at Punchestown on Sunday afternoon, with the Grand National Trial coming up at 2.30pm. Check out our three selections for the Irish racing here.
1.30 Punchestown – Relieved Of Duties (1pt win – 5/1)
Second at Cheltenham back in October, Relieved Of Duties was unable to build on that effort last time out when last of five in a Grade 2 contest at Punchestown. Well, Gordon Elliott’s raider has been given a break since then and looks to bounce back to form in the 1.30pm at Punchestown. He caught the eye when winning on chasing debut at Fairyhouse prior to that Cheltenham run. If he can recapture that sort of form then he should simply outclass his rivals in this opener.
2.30 Punchestown – Patter Merchant (1pt win – 8/1)
Gordon Elliott will saddle six of the 16 runners in the Irish Grand National Trial at 2.30pm. Plenty will head into the race with a big chance, but Patter Merchant looks the one to be with. Winless over fences, the 131-rated novice has been brave in defeat and has already been placed a few times over the larger obstacles. He will benefit with Josh Williamson taking 5lbs off his back here, so has to be respected. He finished behind Slade Steel last time, albeit well beaten, but that is rock solid form, and he looks a solid selection in a wide open betting heat.
3.00 Punchestown – Lazare De Star (1pt win – 9/4)
Runner-up in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham, Heads Up then disappointed next time out at Cheltenham and John McConnell’s charge is worth taking on in the 3.00pm race. Gordon Elliott’s Lazare De Star has been a real model of consistency during his fledgling career and he’s sure to make a bold bid for victory. He was just touched off in heavy going at Navan last time out. However, he’s worth another shot here, as he’s shown he’s ultra-reliable, and can land this prize.
Musselburgh Racing Tips (Sunday 15 February 2026)
Seven races begin at Musselburgh on Sunday at 1.50pm and end at 4.50pm. The best bet to complete our GG Lucky 15 tips runs in the 3.50pm race.
3.50 Musselburgh – Lelantos (1pt win – )
A winner two starts ago at Huntingdon, Lelantos failed to follow up at Fakenham in January, but can bounce back to winning ways in the 3.50pm at Musselburgh. Nicky Henderson will send his raider up from Seven Barrows, which is an eye-catching journey. He’s 4lbs higher than that last success, but he’s still 6lbs lower than his career high mark. Nico de Boinville will take the ride on the veteran for this contest, and everything is shaped for him to go very close in a mediocre contest.
