It’s week two of the Racing League in front of the ITV Racing cameras on Thursday 31st July and the action heads to Wolverhampton for a competitive seven-race card. London & The South currently top the table on 158 points, with Scotland just behind on 156, but Thursday’s action will certainly shake things up and our in-house tipster Steve Chambers has three bets across the card.

6:15pm Wolverhampton – Racing League Race 9 Handicap

James Tate’s HELLO ZAMAN was slowly away last time out and was always going to struggle to get on terms when fifth over the course and distance at Wolverhampton. However, he’s been dropped 1lb for that run and had previously finished a decent second off that 1lb higher mark at Kempton Park two weeks previous. This is a hugely competitive contest to try and work out, but Tate’s charge has the capabilities of taking a notable role in proceedings, if breaking on terms and he looks a solid each-way play.

6:45pm Wolverhampton – Racing League Race 10 Handicap

Richard Hannon’s GREAT BEDWYN was a fine winner at York off of 87 back in the middle of May, but he’s since struggle to figure off marks in the 90s in recent times. Last seen finishing fifth of seven at Newmarket, the five-year-old has been eased to a mark of 89 for this contest, so if he can recapture that form from the Knavesmire then has to be a leading player. He was a winner on the all-weather at Newcastle early in his career, so he has shown he acts on the surface and he could be one looking to strike late to get his head in front.

8:45pm Goodwood – Racing League Race 14 Handicap

The race ends with another cracking betting heat for punters to work out and the standout looks to be the Daniel & Claire Kubler-trained ANDALEEP, who will have the burden of top weight, but looks more than capable of defying top weight to land the prize. He will carry a 4lbs penalty for a shock 18/1 win at Yarmouth last time out, but he has shown a real model of consistency in recent times and can strike again. The likes of Fox Avatar and Immediate Effect will need to be respected, but the nine-year-old Andaleep can bag the money.
