Royal Ascot Day 4 Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Friday 19 June

It’s day four of Royal Ascot on Friday 19th June and Andrew Mount has five selections across the seven-race card. With a flurry of each-way selections our resident tipster looks to bag some big-priced winners during another exciting afternoon of action.

Royal Ascot Racing Tips (Friday 19 June 2026)

It’s a 2.30pm start at Royal Ascot today, but you have to wait for the 3.40pm contest for Andrew’s first bet. Meanwhile, he has some more selections later on in the day.

3.40 Ascot – Plage De Havre (0.5pt e/w – 10/1 bet365, Hills, Unibet)

Top weights (including joint top weights) have a modest record in the 1m4f Jorvik Handicap – run at York’s Dante Meeting, with just one winner – 13-8 shot Sir John Hackwood – from 17 runners since 2010. That winner went on to Grade 1 glory in Australia and while Andrew Balding’s top weight Plage De Havre couldn’t get his head in front this year his third place to the impressive Klassleader was still a noteworthy effort. The Ebor was mooted as a possibility after his win at Haydock last July, but he didn’t run again until reappearing at Kempton in early April and he remains open to further improvement. Since 2015, backing Jorvik top weights next time out would have found three winners from 11 bets for a profit of £15.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Oisin Murphy, on board at York, retains the ride and he looks nicely drawn in stall 15.

15:40 Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap) (GBBPlus Race)

4.20 Ascot – Touleen (1pt e/w – 10/1 bet365, 9/1 generally)

Touleen, winner of her first two starts as a juvenile, lost her 100% record when only fifth in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes (11-10f) but looked ill at ease on the track that day, hanging to her right as she went into the Dip. She bounced back with a close-up second in the Fred Darling at Newbury on her reappearance and the return to Newmarket wasn’t ideal in the 1000 Guineas where she finished a creditable 28-1 sixth to True Love, doing third bets of those to race on the far side of the track. She had subsequent Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Precise behind her that day and today’s track should prove more suitable.

16:20 Coronation Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies)

5.00 Ascot – Quiet Mutiny (1pt e/w – 10/1 bet365, Unibet, both six places)

Quiet Mutiny, a daughter of Starman, needs to prove her stamina for the 1m trip of the Sandringham Stakes but she looks well drawn in stall 25 and is worth supporting each-way. Gavin Cromwell’s three-year-old accounted for subsequent classic winner Precise when landing a 6f Fairyhouse maiden on her debut and found soft ground and the drop to 5.5f against her when a nine-length runner-up in a Cork Listed race next time. Last month’s handicap debut fourth to Invincible Will over 7f at the Curragh was most encouraging – she kept on well to finish three-quarters of a length behind the winner in a fast time – and the race is already working out well, with the seventh coring at the next time of asking and the fifth/eighth both going down by just half a length on their next starts.

17:00 Sandringham Stakes (Handicap) (Fillies)

6.10 Ascot -Tricky Tel (0.5pt e/w – 28/1 generally, most firms paying first six) & Starmade (0.5pt e/w – 14/1 bet365, 12/1 generally)

Tricky Tel took his record over sprint trips to 114311 (4-6) when scoring by a neck in a 5f Class 3 Chester handicap just six days ago on his first start at the minimum distance. Hugo Palmer’s gelding now has form figures in May/June of 11311 (4-5), with the sole defeat at 16-1 on this season’s reappearance, a fine effort given his stall 9 of 12 draw (non-runner adjusted) at Chester. His early Hamilton win suggests that today’s tiff track won’t be an issue, and Toby Moore takes off 7lb.

Starmade, placed over 6f on good to soft/soft going on her first two starts, improved for the drop to 5f when scoring easily at Newcastle last autumn and returned from her winter break with an eye-catching third at Bath in April, doing clear best of those to come from off the pace over the 5.7f trip. Ed Walker’s filly won well when returned to Newcastle last time (6f) and a lunatic gallop over a straight 5f looks ideal. She’s drawn high, near to likely pacesetter Bacio, and makes each-way appeal.

18:10 Palace Of Holyroodhouse (Handicap)
