Progeny of Lethal Force have a poor record at Wolverhampton but that didn’t stop CHORITZO, backed from 25-1 into 14-1, making a winning debut there eight days ago. The switch to turf could bring about further improvement and he clocked a fast time for that debut win. Throw in the booking of Silvestre De Sousa and odds as big as 50-1 look insulting, especially if his high draw turns out to be as big an advantage as it was on Tuesday and Wednesday.

SPANISH CITY has a solid course record: sixth of 27, beaten by just over one length in the 2018 Victoria Cup (7f), sixth of 27, beaten less than two lengths in the 2018 International Stakes (7f), fourth of 20, beaten by less than one length in the 2018 Cunard Handicap (7f) and fifth of 20, beaten by one length in last year’s Cunard.
He ran a cracker from a poor low draw to finish fourth in last year’s Bunbury Cup at Newmarket, again over 7f, and his stamina could be an asset in the Wokingham today (4.10). The Roger Varian yard has been in fantastic form here this week and the drying ground will help.
