Seven more races are ready to go on Wednesday from Royal Ascot. The Group 1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes is the feature, but each contest is a cherished trophy for connections who win them.

Royal Ascot Racing Tips (Wednesday 17 June)
Day two of Royal Ascot may have fewer Group 1s, but every contest is still an eyecatcher. All four of our lucky 15 tips come from the big meeting.
2.30 Ascot – More Champagne (1pt win – 14/1)
Aidan O’Brien has started the week in typically incomparable form. However, the drop back to 5f could test Victorious for speed and there are 27 rivals for her to beat here. US trainers have won three of the last ten runnings, as well as a third last year, and More Champagne could be the latest speedball to emerge from across the Atlantic. A daughter of rapid Breeders’ Cup winner Golden Pal, she won by a wide margin at Keeneland on debut. That was over 5½f, so there should be no worries about her seeing out this trip. The runner-up was an odds-on Wesley Ward filly who also travels over here having won comfortably since. The form therefore stacks up for Thomas Morley’s charge and the draw in stall 14 is fine too.
3.05 Ascot – Limestone (1pt win – 7/2)
Listed winner Limestone is an obvious type to improve and win this after his latest Navan success. Joseph O’Brien’s three-year-old won on his final start at two after finishing behind Benvenuto Cellini and Endorsement on his first two runs. He also won on return over 1m2f too before improving for 1m5f in the Yeats Stakes last time out. That was a strange race tactically, but he overcame some adversity to see it out strongly. He would not want much further than 1m6f on breeding, but his performances on track so far suggest stamina is absolutely his forte. His most recent win should prove good form and it would be a surprise if he weren’t involved.
5.35 Ascot – Oolong Poobong (1pt win – 12/1)
There is definitely a draw concern regarding Oolong Poobong, with stall 3 likely to be on the worse side. However, this race takes place over the longest straight track distance and Jamie Spencer may well drop her out and let her drift across should the near side prove the place to be. That may compromise some ground, but she has a very good chance on form. She was fourth in the Sandringham Stakes for three-year-olds a year ago over this course and distance. That came off 1lb lower than this mark, but she also overcame draw adversity in that race. She then missed 330 days before returning with a promising run at Thirsk. The handicapper has eased her 1lb for that, but she could easily have progress to come. In both seasons so far, she has won second time out. That trend can continue here.
6.10 Ascot – Controlla (1pt win – 4/1)
The revamped Windsor Castle Stakes can go to the filly Controlla. The Amo Racing filly ran a mighty race on debut, beaten just a neck by Victorious in Group 3 company. That was some run from a debutant, being easily more than any of these have achieved thus far. It could be that she was simply ready to fire first time out. However, with any improvement, as can usually be expected from a juvenile on their second start, she would set a mighty standard to beat. The daughter of Night Of Thunder is closely related to Royal Ascot winter Khaloosy, so hopes should be high that she handles the track too.
