Sandown Racing Tips (Thursday 23 July)
There is Listed action on Sandown’s Thursday card. We have a tip in that race, as well as one in the opener at the meeting.
1.55 Sandown – Nogo’s Dream (1pt win – 3/1)
Nogo’s Dream has been slightly below par the last twice, but his first few turf runs of this season suggested a win is imminent. Richard Hughes’ charge was second on return at Nottingham. He was subsequently fifth at Goodwood, but beaten only a length, then second over course and distance. Slight trouble in running at Windsor, then racing against the far rail at Lingfield, put paid to his chances on his most recent duo of runs. However, he has dropped in the handicap as a result. A mark of 75 may now be a gift for a horse 4lb below his last winning rating.
2.55 Sandown – Aperoll (1pt win – 11/8)
The Chesham Stakes may not have been the strongest juvenile race at Royal Ascot. Nevertheless, Aperoll managed to finish a close third, with that Listed effort clearly the best form in this field. Equally, her win at Newbury at the start of June has been franked and gives her collateral form for many of her rivals to overturn here. She already looks a strong galloper for a two-year-old. As such, she should see this out better than most, especially with her experience.
Doncaster Racing Tips (Thursday 23 July)
Seven races take place at Doncaster on Thursday, with our two lucky 15 tips at the track including one in the lucky last.
3.10 Doncaster – Ten Clarets (1pt win – 2/1)
Karl Burke has struck with six of his last 11 runners and Ten Clarets can continue that form. The Ten Sovereigns colt ran in a strong maiden at York on debut. From that race, the winner has won in Group 2 company and Ten clarets was only beaten two-and-a-quarter lengths that day. His own subsequent effort saw him beaten just a neck at Ayr. He was four lengths clear of the third then and drops back half a furlong to contest this nursery. That should suit, his opening mark of 79 looks very generous and he should win well.
5.23 Doncaster – Brighlee (1pt win – 4/1)
There are uncertain signals in Alterity’s form and so Brighlee may overcome the top-weight in this handicap. David Menuisier’s filly is yet to win, but had two runner-up finishes in maiden and novice company at two. She disappointed on her first two starts at three, but was much better upped to 1m2f earlier this month. She was beaten just over a length in a race which emphasised her burgeoning stamina, Though she may do even better over further, she looks to possess better staying power than her rivals and can again a first success.
