A whopping 12 races will take place in front of the ITV Racing cameras on Super Saturday on 12th July, as Newmarket’s July Meeting is backed up by quality action at York and Ascot. We pick out our best Saturday racing tips for the final day of the July meeting, while also picking out our best bets for the quality action at York.

2:00pm York – John Smith’s Racing Handicap
Well fancied for the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, REMMOOZ could only finish fourth, but the Owen Burrows-trained son of Blue Point is capable of building on that effort and dropping back to handicap company for the 2:00pm at York he can recapture the winning thread and dominate off bottom weight.
After back-to-back wins at Doncaster on his first two career starts, Remmooz found himself wide in the Jersey and was unable to pick them up in the closing stages. This will be a whole new ball game as he takes on older, more experienced horses, but off a mark of 98 he has the potential to show his class her and get the better of the likes of Old Cock and last year’s winner Blue For You, who could chase him home off a 1lb lower mark this term.

2:50pm Newmarket – bet365 Bunbury Cup
MORE THUNDER was one of the unluckiest losers at Royal Ascot last month, as having been out the back the William Haggas-trained four-year-old just failed to reel in Get It in the Wokingham Stakes, but the attractively handicapped sprinter can bounce back and dominate the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket at 2:50pm.
Having dropped back to six furlongs in recent times, the Night Of Thunder colt has been hugely impressive during two Newmarket wins, while Tom Marquand having slight issues with his whip in the closing stages of that Wokingham contest may have cost the Haggas raider a third win. He remains on the same mark of 98 for the Bunbury Cup and if he can gain a clear run in the closing stages of the contest then he should storm to the front in the final furlong to continue his progression up the sprinting ladder.

3:10pm York – John Smith’s Cup Handicap
Archivist is a hot favourite to land the John Smith’s Cup at York, but the William Haggas-trained three-year-old has a tough task on his hands as only three of that age group have landed the coveted 1m 2f 56y handicap since the turn of the century and he will have a 5lbs penalty to carry for an impressive win last time out.
Harry Charlton’s HAND OF GOD could be the biggest danger to the market leader, as he shaped with promise throughout the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot last month before tiring in the closing stages and finishing sixth. Dropping back in trip for this contest, the 2024 Golden Gates winner has the potential to go very close, if building on that Ascot run, and he looks the value play in a hugely competitive betting heat.
4:35pm Newmarket – Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai July Cup Stakes
Notable Speech is a fascinating contender for the Group 1 July Cup at 4:35pm at Newmarket and the former 2000 Guineas winner is a hot favourite to land the 6f contest. Yet to deliver the goods over a mile this campaign, the Godolphin raider now drops back in trip and will be looking to down some proven sprint starts in Saturday’s feature race.
However, it could be the Godolphin second string in SYMBOL OF HONOUR that claims glory in this contest, and the three-year-old is the selection. Impressive wins at Newbury and Haydock has seen the grey produce some fine displays this campaign and while this is a huge step up he looks more than capable of playing a starring role here. While many of his rivals have struggled to get their head in front, he comes here in terrific form and could well continue on an upward curve and land this prize.
