With Fontwell forced to abandon their fixture on Sunday 25 January it’s left for Sedgefield and Naas to provide the action. We preview both meetings below and pick out four tips to make up the GG Lucky 15 for the day.
Sedgefield Racing Tips (Sunday 25 January 2026)
Six races will take place at Sedgefield on Sunday with a 1.40pm start. There are two chase races and four hurdle contests during the afternoon, and we pick out our best bets here.
3.10 Sedgefield – Indian River (1pt win – 6/4)
Adrian Keatley’s Indian River has relished a switch from the flat to the jumping sphere and bids for a hat-trick of wins when lining up in the 3.10pm contest. Having followed a Catterick win at Wetherby last time out, the progressive four-year-old son of Nathaniel can continue his winning ways on Sunday. A juvenile hurdle winner last time out, he will venture into handicaps for the first time, but a mark of 117 looks more than fair and he could well continue to blossom over timber and looks a solid bet.
3.40 Sedgefield – Tom Creen (1pt win – 4/1)
Sam England’s Tom Creen already has five wins to his name around Sedgefield and the veteran can make it number six in the 3.40pm contest. Touched off into second on his last outing around the track, the 11-year-old has been kept on a mark of 107 for Sunday’s event, and whilst he has the burden of top weight, he can duly storm to victory. Tom Midgley will take a valuable 3lbs off his back and with plenty of out-of-form rivals lining up then he can reign supreme at the northern track once again.
Naas Racing Tips (Sunday 25 January 2026)
There’s a bumper card at Naas on Sunday with seven races beginning at 12.55pm and ending at 3.55pm. Our other two selections come from the Irish track, with feature races of the day being the Grade 3 events at 1.25pm and 3.25pm.
2.25 Naas – Beyond Your Dreams (1pt win – 16/1)
Ninth in the Fred Winter at last season’s Cheltenham Festival, Beyond Your Dreams has struggled to kick on from a promising juvenile campaign, but this looks a lot easier than her last outing which came in a hugely competitive Punchestown event. This is still a decent contest, but she’s been dropped 1lb and is now 6lbs lower than when she lined up at Cheltenham in March. She will need to improve on what she’s shown on the track so far, but if Mark Walsh can get her settled then he could well unleash a late challenge over a slightly shorter trip than last time.
3.25 Naas – Argento Boy (1pt win – 100/30)
Flicker Of Hope will be looking to record a third win on the bounce in the Grade 3 novice chase at 3.25pm, but it’s the Willie Mullins-trained Argento Boy that can land this prize. He bounced back from a fall on his chase debut at Punchestown by winning at the same track in race that saw Slade Steel fail to finish. This is going to be a tougher assignment, but if his jumping can remain sound then he could make it back-to-back wins for the Closutton team.
