Southwell Racing Tips (Friday 20 February 2026)
Nine races take place at Southwell this evening, with the obvious highlight being Constitution Hill at 7.30pm. Andrew has a brace of tips for the all-weather action, which sees the second part of the card live on ITV.
4.58 Southwell – The Caribbean (1pt win – 15/2 888sport, 7/1 William Hill)
The Caribbean kept on well to land a 7f Class 6 Wolverhampton handicap in mid-December and his subsequent third in Class 5 company over the same course and distance on January 12th was most eye-catching. Heather Main’s five-year-old, poorly drawn in stall 10 of 10, raced a shade keenly off the steady early gallop before keeping on well to finish two lengths behind Bear Rock.
The winner, runner-up and fourth came from stalls 2, 4 and 3 and were described by the Racing Post as “prominent”, “raced in second” and “took keen hold, led” and it was a cracking effort in the circumstances. Fifth-placed Flowstate (stall 7), second best of the closers and second best of those drawn high, has won twice since, eighth-placed River Wharfe (stall 9, “in rear throughout”) finished second and third on his next two outings while tenth home Harbour Vision (stall 5, “never better than midfield”) has won both subsequent starts (20-1 and 6-1).
6.00 Southwell – One More Dream (0.5pt e/w – 25/1 Sky Bet, Paddy Power, both paying four places, 22/1 Betfred, also paying four places)
One More Dream tends to struggle in December/January, recording form figures of 4800090086 (0-10) but is very consistent in the February/March period, with form figures of 31431212414316443 (5-17) for a profit of £13.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. John and Sean Quinn’s seven-year-old tends to hit form around February 20th each-year and, while the absence since mid-October is a slight concern, he’s worth chancing to small stakes at a big price.
Dundalk Racing Tips (Friday 20 February 2026)
There’s eight races at Dundalk as well on Friday, with more all-weather action. Andrew’s sole selection lines up in the 5.45pm race.
5.45 Dundalk – Moyassr (1pt win – 13/2 888sport, 6/1 BetVictor, Sky Bet, Paddy Power)
Moyassr did this column a favour when landing a 1m Dundalk handicap late last month, taking his course record in cheekpieces to 2112311 (4-7), with the third place on account of not staying the extended 1m2f trip and the latest runner-up effort by just a short head. The 6lb rise for his latest victory and his stall 1 draw make life trickier this evening, but his attitude can’t be faulted, and Reese Holohan takes off 7lb. Two of those course wind came under apprentice jockeys and Holohan has ridden winners at 20-1 and 7-2 from ten rides in the past fortnight.
