Ollie Sangster’s TEMPTED is one of those lining up in this event with experience and while she’s failed to show much on his two outings to date he could put up a better show in this event. Last seen finishing eighth of ten at Bath, she had previously finished sixth at Kempton Park, so a return to an all-weather surface should bring on improvement. She also drops back to seven furlongs, which should be another positive in what is a trappy affair.

Roger Varian’s Empress Matilda is an interesting newcomer, but the son of Al Kazeem is one that needs further than 7f, so it could be worth taking a chance on Charlie Johnston’s TATTIE BOGLE, who can land division two of the restricted novice stakes at 5:15pm. The Outstrip colt is another that is sure to improve for the experience, but looks to have the capabilities to run a solid race on racecourse ddebut.

Beaten by one-and-three-quarter lengths on debut at Newcastle earlier this month, SPETSES struggled to reel in the winner that day, but Roger Varian’s charge can build on that effort and break his maiden tag in the 5.45pm contest. The son of Get Stormy kept on in the closing stages of that 1m event and the same trip should certainly suit him here. The likes of Rogue State and Spedbury will be interesting rivals, but Spetses’ experience should be the key factor.

Marco Botti’s SILVER SAMURAI ran his best race for a while when finishing third at Southwell last time out and dropped 1lb for that outing the seven-year-old can return to winning ways in a competitive contest at 6:15pm. A winner off a mark of 91 at Doncaster back in June, Botti’s raider is now lining up off 89 in this contest, so is very attractively handicapped on his current mark. There are a whole host of in-form rivals taking their chance, but Silver Samurai makes the most appeal.

Placed in his last four starts at Southwell, URBAN DANDY is looking to finally get his head in front and the four-year-old son Dandy Man can land victory in the 7:15pm contest. Beaten by less than half-a-length last week at the track, Urban Dandy will line up off the same mark of 52 and if he can replicate his performance from last time out the he can land the prize. He’s 5lbs lower than his last winning mark, so has to be respected here in what is another competitive betting heat on Thursday evening.

Julie Camacho’s TRIGGERMAN broke his maiden tag at the tenth time of asking last time out at Southwell and the son of Ribchester can make it two wins on the bounce in the final race at 8:15pm. He will need to build on that course and distance victory as he’s been upped 2lbs for that head success, but he showed that he relishes the test at Southwell, so can quickly follow up here.
