4.15pm – BetUK. Home Of The Acca Apprentice Handicap
Ed Dunlop’s PHILOS was a winner two starts ago over a mile-and-a-half at Kempton, but failed to follow up next time out when stepped up 1m 6f at Chelmsford, where he could only finish third. He’s 5lbs higher than his last winning mark, but the drop back in trip to 1m 4f 14y on Tuesday should see him at his best and he looks more than capable of delivering the goods for top notch apprentice Morgan Cole.
4.45pm – Win 2,000,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Restricted Maiden Stakes
Fresh from winning the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster at the weekend, AMO Racing will look to taste more success in the second race on the card at Southwell on Thursday. The David Loughnane-trained OFF THE BENCH will carry the colours of ownership and this 45,000gns yearling is sure to be ready to go and could well be the solid option for a team that do well with their debutants.
5.15pm – Stay Golden With BetMGM Safer Gambling Handicap
WInless in her first four starts, Marco Botti’s SO OBSESSED broken her maiden tag earlier this month with a authoritative five-length victory at Chelmsford and she can duly follow up in the 5.15pm race. She will have a 5lbs penalty to carry, but the manner in which she pulled well clear of her rivals suggests there’s much more in the tank and she should prove to be a cut above her rivals in this 5f contest.
5.45pm – BetMGM: It’s Showtime Restricted Maiden Stakes – Div 1
Second in her last two starts, ZARIELA still remains a maiden after five starts, but the Sean Woods-trained starlet can finally get her head in front as experience could be vital in the 5.45pm. She takes on some interesting newcomers here, but Zariela has been knocking on the door with second placed finishes at Chelmsford and Yarmouth on her last two outings and returning off a break she could well take this prize with aplomb.
6.15pm – BetMGM: It’s Showtime Restricted Maiden Stakes – Div 2
It’s another relatively mediocre maiden next up at 6.15pm as division two takes centre stage and the likes of Mickley and Asinara are likely to prove popular with the punters. However, the one to take a chance with is Archie Watson’s DUKE WELLINGTON, who has finished third on both his starts to date at Southwell, but is potentially open to more improvement. He wasn’t given a hard race when finishing off well last time out by Hollie Doyle and with more experience in the locker now the son of Soldier’s Call could play a notable part in the finish if continue to on an upward curve.
6.45pm – Bet 10 Get 40 At BetMGM Handicap
Ruth Carr’s SWISS ACE may be struggling to get his head in front of late, but the son of Kingman will return to his favoured seven furlongs on Tuesday and he could well run a big race at decent odds in a competitive handicap. Last seen winning over this trip back in December, he’s been finding life tough off higher marks in the 80s and has been running over 6f and a mile. But, a return to seven furlongs here and a slight mark drop to 80 means he’s only 3lbs higher than his last winning mark and could be a really solid each-way play.
7.15pm – Best Racing Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Handicap
BINT HAVANA GOLD has been in sensational form of late for Richard Hughes and 7lb claimer Ethan Jones, as the three-year-old daughter of Havana Gold has notched up two wins and a second from her last three starts. She will look to add another victory to her CV on Tuesday and is more than capable of going in again in a competitive-looking handicap at 7.15pm. She’s been given another 3lbs rise for her most recent win, but a mark of 67 still looks workable and with Jones appearing to strike up a brilliant relationship in the saddle then she could well go in again.
7.45pm – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Classified Stakes – Div 1
There was a thrilling finish between INEXPLICABLE and Fanzone at Newcastle eight days ago with the former just prevailing by a head and the pair could well fight out the finish in the penultimate race on the card here. Fanzone has often found it hard to get his head in front, so it’s hard to fancy that raider reversing the form and Anthony Brittain’s Inexplicable is sure to grow in confidence from that victory and has to come into calculations over the same course and distance.
8.15pm – Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Classified Stakes – Div 2
A winner at Southwell back in February, Tony Carroll’s HAWAJES will return to the scene of his last victory in the final race on the card and he looks capable of grabbing the finale. Only 2lbs higher in the handicap for this event, he was a decent third last time out and if he can show slight improvement on that effort then he’s more than capable of landing another win.
