David O’Meara’s COSMOS RAJ has been riding the crest of a wave of late notching up two quickfire wins at Wolverhampton and the flourishing six-year-old can defy another rise in the weights and land the hat-trick in the 3.20 contest at Lingfield. Wins off 72 and 74 in recent months has seen O’Meara’s raider find some excellent form and he will take his chance off 76 in this event and there’s no doubting he has to be the one to beat. He will have the burden of top weight in this 1m contest, but he was a comfortable winner on his last outing, so it would be no shock to see him deliver the goods again.

George Scott’s Moulin Booj is hugely progressive and is entitled to take his chance up in grade, but he could prove vulnerable to a proven classy performer in the shape of the David Evans-trained LIHOU, whis is the value play in this competitive contest. A course-and-distance winner off a mark of 80 just over a year ago, the eight-year-old takes his chance off only 76 in Thursday’s contest. He was last seen finishing a creditable third at Chelmsford and a 2lbs drop by the handicapper certainly leaves the door ajar to claim more success at the track.
