Taunton Racing Tips (Tuesday 24 March 2026)
Seven National Hunt races take place at Taunton on Tuesday, with Andrew opting opting to wait until the 4.15pm contest for a big-priced each-way pick.
4.15 Taunton – Il Va De Soi (0.5pt e/w – 18/1 bet365, three places, BetMGM, Sky Bet and VirginBet are also paying three places)
Il Va De Soi’s chance in this 2m3f handicap hurdle doesn’t look obvious after his 29-length seventh of nine at Warwick on March 8th but his patient running style was no help that day and it represented improvement on his Fontwell effort the previous month where he was pulled up. In-form Harry Fry’s eight-year-old often runs well in the spring, recording form figures over hurdles in March/April of 21147 (2-5), with the latest win off a 4lb higher mark and, since October 1st of last year, simply backing any runners who finished fourth or worse under a hold-up ride at Warwick on their latest start would have found 16 winners from 131 bets (12.2%) for a profit of £43.00 to a £1 level stake at SP.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Tuesday 24 March 2026)
A bumper nine races comes from Wolverhampton on the all-weather, with a 4.23pm start and 8.30pm finish. Andrew’s best bet on the card lines up in the second race at 4.55pm.
4.55 Wolverhampton – Nautical Sky (0.5pt e/w – 8/1 888sport, 15/2 generally)
Nautical Sky beat only one home over 6f here on her latest start but looks a likely improver now stepping up in trip on her handicap debut. James Ferguson’s three-year-old has shown sufficient promise on the clock to suggest that she’ll be competitive in this 8.6f contest, recording the co-best speed figure in today’s line-up (according to Proform’s ratings) when going down by five lengths when 80-1 for her debut at Chelmsford. Her best-of-the-closers 28-1 fourth over 6f here next time, in a race won by her odds-on stablemate Sparksmith, was another positive. The winner has since gone close off 82 in handicap company and the other pair that beat here are rated 70 and 65. Her trainer has a useful record with runners making their handicap debuts, scoring with 22 of the 122 qualifiers (18% strike-rate) for a 20% profit at Betfair SP (after commission). The strike-rate increases to 23% on the all-weather and ten of the 15 qualifiers at Wolverhampton finishing the first four with three winning.
