Ger Lyons is one of the go-to men when in search of Dundalk winners and his likely favourite in the 4.30pm contest there today looks to tick all the boxes. Along with a second bet in the 5.30pm, we also have one selection at Wolverhampton on jumps free day in the den.

DUNDALK
4.30 – It’s All A Joke 13/8
Strong travelling sort who clocked a good speed figure when scoring over 6f here the last day. Up 6lb but looks progressive and has plenty of speed, so the drop to 5f doesn’t pose any obvious issues. The Ger Lyons stable does well here and this 3yo Dandy Man gelding has a decent pitch in stall 2.
5.30 – Wishing Star E/w 5/1, double stakes
Fozzy Stack has a 21% strike rate at Dundalk in recent years and this well bred filly shaped well here behind I Can Fly back in September. The form of that 7f maiden has worked out well, so with course experience to call upon and improvement likely, she should run a big race if negotiating a safe passage from stall 12.
WOLVERHAMPTON
5.45 – Appenzeller 6/4
A strapping gelding and a late foal who is sure to keep improving with racing. His unraced mare has already produced a couple of useful winners (Tajaaweed & Kingsfield) and last time out at Wolverhampton, the Richard Hughes trained grey shaped well in 4th behind 6/1 winner Casima and the 15/8f Braemar. The handicapper saw fit to notch him up a pound to a mark of 66, but he may not be quick enough to counter the likely improvement from the market leader and likely winner here.
