There’s top notch Flat racing up and down the country on Saturday and there’s a cracking card at Ascot. We try to land the Tote Placepot at the Berkshire track and pick out our selections for all six legs on Saturday 13th July.
If you’re new to the Tote, you can get £50 in Bonuses when you sign up using the link below and place a £10 bet.

Leg 1: 1.45pm – A1R Services Heritage Handicap
Leg 1 Selections: (5) King’s Lynn
Placed in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier in his career, King’s Lynn has been on a long losing streak of 17 races, but the classy sprinter shaped with promise last time out when second and he can go one better in the opener at Ascot at 1:45pm. He’s been upped 2lbs to a mark of 94 for this event, but he is a proven class act on his day and he looks set to grab a place at the very least.
Leg 2: 2.20pm – Anne Cowley Memorial Summer Mile Stakes
Leg 2 Selections: (6) Quddwah
Unbeaten in all three starts, Simon & Ed Crisford’s Quddwah has been a revelation this campaign and the son of Kingman can make it four wins from four and land his biggest career win in the Summer Mile at 2:20pm. A narrow winner over Docklands in the Listed Paradise Stakes at Ascot last time out, he will step up to Group 2 company for this event, but he shaped like he could be a real class act and he looks to be the solid option here.
Leg 3: 2.57pm – Juddmonte British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes
Leg 3 Selections: (3) Tiger Mask
Karl Burke’s Tiger Mask improved for his second start when finishing second at York and he will look to finally notch up a first success in the novice stakes at 2:57pm. The Havana Grey colt was sixth on debut at Haydock, but too a huge step forward when second on his next outing and he looks like there could be more improvement to come and he’s the tentative selection here.

Leg 4: 3.32pm – Ascot Racecourse Supports Sport In Mind Handicap
Leg 4 Selections: (3) Wind Your Neck In
A winner at Newmarket at the end of 2013, Wind Your Neck In showed that he relishes a bit of give in the going when finishing second at Chester last time out for David Evans. Beaten a neck that day, he pulled over six lengths clear of the third placed finisher that day, so potentially bumped into one on the Roodee. This is a different sort of test, but should any rain hit the track then he has to be given the utmost respect.
Leg 5: 4.07pm – Magnum Classic Ice Cream Handicap
Leg 5 Selections: (3) La Yakel
William Haggas has always held La Yakel in high regard and he will be making his seasonal reappearance in the fifth race at Ascot on Saturday at 4:07pm. Last seen finishing second at York at the end of last season, the five-year-old son of Time Test is a previous course and distance winner, so will enjoy a return to Ascot and while he may have bigger races later in this season this looks a winnable pipe opener for him.
Leg 6: 4.42pm – Village Hotels Fillies’ Handicap
Leg 6 Selections: (13) Surveyor
James Fanshawe’s Surveyor was a disappointing eighth at Sandown on his last start, but the daughter of Pivotal can bounce back from that effort with victory in the final race on the card. She ran too freely that day, so she will need to settle better having been seen on the all-weather her previous two starts, and she has the potential to run a decent race in this company.
