Leg 1: 1.50pm – Get Best Odds Guaranteed At BetVictor Stakes
Leg 1 Selections: (4) Alyanaabi
Last seen finishing fifth in the Group 1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, Alyanaabi will drop back down significantly in class on Saturday and he’s a hot favourite for the Listed event at 1:50pm. The Owen Burrows-trained son of Too Darn Hot may not be top class at the moment, but he has shown significant ability on the track and he should be able to outclass his rivals in this event before venturing back into Group company in the second half of the season.
Leg 2: 2.25pm – Mettal UK Handicap
Leg 2 Selections: (2) Naqeeb
William Haggas will be hoping that Naqeeb can find some form and the beautifully bred colt can bounce back to winning ways in the 2:25pm contest. Closely related to the top class duo of Baaeed and Hukum, Naqeeb showed when third in the Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket at the start of the season that he has some top notch form in the book. He’s struggled in recent times, but this is much easier than the Copper Horse Handicap he last ran in at Royal Ascot, so has to be respected.
Leg 3: 3.00pm – Fidelity Energy Hackwood Stakes
Leg 3 Selections: (6) Twilight Calls
Sixth in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, Twilight Calls then failed to land a blow in the Coral Charge at Sandown when missing the break. Both those runs came over five furlongs, so the step up to six furlongs for the Hackwood Stakes at 3:00pm could bring out some notable improvement. He will be doing all his best work in the closing stages of the race, so he’s a perfect candidate to land a top three spot in this cracking renewal.

Leg 4: 3.35pm – Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes
Leg 4 Selections: (2) Mythical Composer, (4) Vingegaard
There’s a hugely competitive renewal of the Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes at 3:35pm and it’s a race that is probably worth picking out two selections to try and make it to leg five. Clive Cox’s Mythical Composer was an impressive winner at Bath on his third start to break his maiden tag and he’s one towards the top of the weights worth watching. Fifth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, Archie Watson’s Vingegaard is another speedy runner taking his chance here and he could improve from that run last month and is the second pick.
Leg 5: 4.10pm – Take A Lucky Dip At BetVictor EBF Novice Stakes
Leg 5 Selections: (12) Yafaarr
Archie Watson’s Yafaar is an eye-catching newcomer and the son of Blue Point could be a potentially smart performer and is the selection in the fifth race. A 280,000gns yearling, he is bred for speed, so this six furlong test should be well within his capabilities and if he can show a decent attitude then has to respected in a trappy event.
Leg 6: 4.45pm – Darley EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes
Leg 6 Selections: (3) Dubai Melody
Charlie Appleby’s Dubai Melody produced a promising debut when second at Newmarket, but he failed to land any sort of blow when eighth at Wolverhampton on his second start. He’s been off the track since that run in November, so the Godolphin team will be hoping that break will bring on notable improvement. If he can repeat his debut run then he has to be considered for this final leg of the Tote Placepot and he’s the tentative selection.
