Leg 1: 2.30pm – Albany Stakes

Leg 1 Selections: (2) California Dreamer

Aidan O’Brien’s Fairy Godmother is a hot favourite for the Albany Stakes, which kicks off day four of Royal Ascot and it’s going to be hard to see the Ballydoyle raider out of the frame. However, one that could feature prominently is Adrian Murray’s CALIFORNIA DREAMER, who chased home Fairy Godmother when the pair clashed at Naas last month.

Green on debut when finishing second at Dundalk, she made a huge step forward when finishing third at Naas, where she just tired in the closing stages of that 6f contest. Sure to improve again for that run it would be no shock to see her finish closer to Fairy Godmother and she can get us through the first round of the Placepot.

14:30 Albany Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies)

Leg 2: 3.05pmCommonwealth Cup

Leg 2 Selections: (4) Inisherin

Kevin Ryan has already tasted Royal Ascot success this week with Ain’t Nobody, but he has a fabulous chance of landing more success when he saddles INISHERIN in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at 3:05pm. A stunning winner of the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock Park on his last start, the Shamardal colt quickened impressively to bound to a three-and-three-quarter length win.

This is much tougher, but the three-year-old looks to be a potential sprinting star and he can get the better of the likes of Elite Status and Jasour, who both sit prominently in the betting for what is an intriguing renewal.

15:05 Commonwealth Cup (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (No Geldings)

Leg 3: 3.45pm – Coronation Stakes

Leg 3 Selections: (6) Porta Fortuna

Third in the Irish 1000 Guineas, Opera Singer is a warm order to build on that effort and claim victory in the Coronation Stakes at 3:45pm and it’s hard to not see Aidan O’Brien’s charge making the frame for the second Group 1 of the day.

However, Donnacha O’Brien’s PORTA FORTUNA ran an absolute stormer to finish second in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and she is expected to go close again here. She was a fine winner of the Albany Stakes over 6f at the meeting last year and she continues to blossom on the track and she looks another solid punting option for trying to get past the third leg of the Placepot.

15:45 Coronation Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Fillies)

Leg 4: 4.25pm – Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes

Leg 4 Selections: (14) Fairbanks, (16) Ethical Diamond

You have to respect any Willie Mullins runner at any festival, whether over Jumps or on the Flat, and the master of Closutton will saddle the hot favourite ETHICAL DIAMOND in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at 4:25pm. Tenth in the Triumph Hurdle, he made a pleasing return to the Flat when second at Leopardstown and he looks more than capable of winning this event.

One at a bigger price that could sneak in the place is Andrew Balding’s FAIRBANKS, who was a winner at Newcastle and then went on to finish second at Hamilton. He will need to settle to feature at the finish, but he looks a smart performer and he could be a lively outsider.

16:25 Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap)

Leg 5: 5.05pm – Sandringham Stakes

Leg 5 Selections: (5) Asian Daze

A hugely competitive contest, the Sandringham Stakes will see a monster field go to post, but one that jumps off the page at decent odds is Johnny Murtagh’s ASIAN DAZE, who can be the sole selection in the contest for Ireland.

Second in a Listed event last time out at Navan, she will drop back into handicap company here and off 97 she looks more than capable of playing a starring role. Only out of the frame in one of her last seven starts, she looks one that will relish this test and she can fill the places to land leg five.

17:05 Sandringham Stakes (Fillies’ Handicap)

Leg 6: 5.40pm – King Edward VII Stakes

Leg 6 Selections: (5) Diego Velazquez

Down the field on his last two visits to France, DIEGO VELAZQUEZ is on the comeback mission in the King Edward VII Stakes, which concludes Friday’s Placepot, but a return to better ground could see this classy juvenile storm to victory here. Unable to land any sort of blow in the Prix du Jockey Club, Aidan O’Brien’s charge will find this much easier and looks a leading contender.

The Frankel colt was a Group 2 winner as a juvenile and that win came on quick ground, so he should relish the underfoot conditions on Friday and he can prove to be another classy winner for the Ballydoyle team.
