He comes with negatives, though, with a quick turnaround after disappointing at Goodwood three days ago, but he was poorly positioned in a slowly run race, so it may be worth putting a line through that.
Today’s contest is sure to be strongly run with both Recon Mission and Spring Bloom frontrunners, and they both step up in trip today, so there is a chance they could do too much too soon and, along with Evasive Power, are not certain to get this trip.
Delegate This Lord has fallen short at this level previously, so the drop in class for the selection for the first time since catching the eye at Newmarket last June off a handicap mark of 92 is a big positive. The cheekpieces go on for the first time to sharpen him up, and he is a strong stayer over this trip, as shown when beaten 2 lengths by Ejtilaab here in June on slower ground than ideal. There is plenty in his favour here down in grade, so he is worth a flyer bet.

MARK’S CHOICE was a very good winner of the Class 2 Silver Trophy here earlier this month and bolstered his fine record at Ripon. The wind operation clearly worked wonders, and there is a good chance he can rack up a sequence off this 4lbs higher mark.
He kept some warm company last term and this season and there looks to be very little reason to oppose him down into Class 4 company. He should find this easier than his victory last time.
