Five tracks go racing on Friday, but attention will sweep towards Southwell. Former Champion Hurdle hero Constitution Hill makes his eagerly anticipated flat debut at their evening meeting.

Warwick Racing Tips (Friday 20 February)
There is class 3 action to headline Warwick’s Friday card. There are seven races to enjoy from the Midlands track in all.
3.35 Warwick – Liam Mera Kai (1pt e/w – 7/1)
Top-weight Liam Mera Kai enters handicap company winless over hurdles, but having regularly gone close. The five-year-old won his only bumper at this track last March, before placing in four successive maiden and novice hurdle events. In his third run at Southwell, he was beaten only a neck, and just over three lengths in two others. His latest run, when more safely held at Wincanton, still had promise too. It may be that a step up in trip will suit, but a mark of 11 looks light. As a result, he may be able to score over 2m here for an in-form yard. Warren Greatrex’s team have won with three of their last six runners.
4.05 Warwick – Romany King (1pt e/w – 16/1)
A chance may be worth taking on Romany King here for Charlie Longsdon. He won his only point-to-point in December 2024 before a five-figure purchase the following month. All four of his relatives have won over jumps, so there would have been confidence that he would follow suit. He has struggled so far, but had wind surgery after his debut. That suggests that run is forgivable and he was competitive against some useful rivals at Leicester two months ago. He was then down the field at Newbury over 2m on good-to-soft, but that was likely sharp enough. Upped to 2m3f on soft, he should be more at home now that he enters handicaps.
Southwell Racing Tips (Friday 20 February)
Southwell hosts the second Friday Night Live meeting, with Constitution Hill in attendance. However, one of our Lucky 15 selections takes on that superstar.
7.00 Southwell – Rogue Encore (1pt e/w – 13/2)
Dosman has gone close the last twice, but Rogue Encore is fancied to turn the tables from their recent meeting. Peter Chapple-Hyam’s charge was fifth after a 110-day break, just under a length behind Dosman, last time. That was a respectable run after a lay-off, and he had won on his final start before that break. His all-weather profile has been progressive and the 2lb swing he has with the favourite entitles him to respect. With race fitness now more assured, he looks capable of success.
7.30 Southwell – Gambino (1pt e/w – 11/1)
All eyes will be in Constitution Hill, but he faces two rivals with useful flat experience here. Square Necker represents the Amo Racing colours, but Gambino is available at a far more tempting price. The reason may be that the selection has joined Dan Skelton rather than a traditional flat yard. However, Skelton’s team have become one of the most proficient outfits in Britain or Ireland, so that is no concern. The selection won a Gowran Park maiden last season for Noel Meade, then finished second after a 133-day break in handicap company off a mark of 82. That is serious form for an inexperienced horse, suggesting he could go on to better things. There has obviously been disruption in his development, but plenty of his jumps rivals step into the unknown. With Hollie Doyle aboard, the son of Churchill may have more speed and knowhow.
