Andrew Mount knocked in more profit on Wednesday with an each-way selection at 22/1 that finished third. Our resident tipster heads to Wetherby and Ffos Las on Thursday 4th June looking to continue his excellent week of tipping.
Wetherby Racing Tips (Thursday 4 June 2026)
It’s a 2.12pm start at Wetherby today, but you have to wait until the 4.42pm contest for Andrew’s best bet on the card.
4.42 Wetherby – It Just Takes Time (0.5pt e/w – 11/1 bet365, five places, 9/1 generally)
It Just Takes Time could only finish 12th of 22 in a 7f York handicap on his latest start but Mark Walford’s 28-1 shot sweated up pre-race and was pestered for the early lead in a race set up for the closers (the first ten finishers came from midfield or further back). The eight-year-old had two lengths to spare over Havana Prince, the other front-runner, and might get loose on the lead today. The forecast tailwind in the straight at Wetherby could also aid his cause and he has his ideal conditions today. When running in a turf handicap, Class 3 or lower, from June onwards and after a recent outing (1-28 days) his record stands at 11 wins from 31 starts for a profit of £57.00 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£70.64 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). He’s arguably best right-handed at the likes of Ripon and Beverley but I still want a small interest. Lady Mariko, one place ahead of the selection when ridden prominently in that York race, is worth a stake saver.
Ffos Las Racing Tips (Thursday 4 June 2026)
Six races make up the flat action at Ffos Las on Thursday, with Andrew opting for an eye-catching pick in the 7.20pm contest.
7.20 Ffos Las – Sea The Light (1pt win – 7/1 888sport, 13/2 generally)
John Butler is a relatively infrequent visitor to Ffos Las and in the last five years his handicappers have recorded form figures at the Welsh venue of 1551125 (3-7) for a profit of £2.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. Sea The Light is the first of his two such runners this evening (the other is Ghost Story in the 8.50) and the four-year-old looks worth a bet to break his turf duck as he ran in the 1m2f Newcastle handicap won by Star Cast on May 1st, a race that is working out well. The winner followed up under a 5lb penalty, the fourth (Jack Sparowe, also trained by John Butler) bolted up at 9-1 at Yarmouth at the next time of asking before a close-up second at Wolverhampton, 40-1 sixth Free Speech went down by a head when 12-1 at Wolverhampton, eighth-placed Mao Shang Wong was a 13-2 Beverley winner for this column, while Sure And Stedfast, beaten by eight lengths into tenth position, placed at 14-1 on his next assignment. Sea The Light didn’t get home when a six-length seventh of 12 in that key Newcastle contest and should be suited by the cut back to 1m.
