Wetherby & Southwell Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Wednesday 11 February

Andrew Mount has two tips for the horse racing on Wednesday 11 February. His best bets of the day run at the National Hunt card at Wetherby and the flat fixture at Southwell.

Meeting-by-meeting, Andrew picks out his best bet on each card, so see who he fancies today.

Wetherby Racing Tips (Wednesday 11 February 2026)

Six races take place at Wetherby on Wednesday afternoon. It’s the 3.21pm contest that Andrew focuses on and he has a 2pt win selection.

3.21 Wetherby – Latenightrumble (2pt win – 4/1 generally)

Latenightrumble could only finish an 18-length eighth of 16 at Windsor on his latest outing but the figure-of-eight track didn’t suit him, and he was 28-1 for a very competitive Class 3 handicap chase. The Tom Ellis-trained nine-year-old also found Class 2 company too hot when filling the same position at Haydock on his penultimate start and was in need of the run when fifth to Be Aware at Stratford on his seasonal return. The drop back down to Class 4 level and return to Wetherby is likely to produce a vastly improved effort this afternoon as his two previous runs here have produced a 7-1 win and 9-4 unlucky second (he was going better than the winner when stumbling on landing and losing vital momentum after jumping the last fence). His trainer is in great form, saddling a double at Southwell last week as well as an 11-1 runner-up at Warwick. The market is headed by Paddy O’Mahler (5-2) but he would prefer quicker going and his stable is quiet.

Southwell Racing Tips (Wednesday 11 February 2026)

Seven races take place at Southwell, but you need to wait for the final race on the card for Andrew’s selection.

3.44 Southwell – Brother Dave (1pt win – 10/1 888sport, 9/1 generally including bet365 and William Hill)

The Ruth Carr-trained Brother Dave is a full brother to the yard’s 17-time winner Bobby Joe Leg, who improved with age (15 of his 17 wins came after his sixth birthday). Brother Dave was successful on his first six-year-old outing last month, arriving late under Jimmy Sullivan to record an 11-1 victory in a course and distance classified contest on his return from a 136-day break. That took his record over track and trip to 621191 (3-6) with the runner-up effort by a nose. His trainer has a good record on the all-weather with last time out winners, scoring with 20 of the 100 qualifies in the past five years for a profit of £34.83 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£56.15 at Betfair SP after 2% commission) and he could emulate his brother and run up a sequence.
