Wincanton Racing Tips (Thursday 29 January 2026)
Seven races take place during Wincanton’s jumps card on Thursday, but you have to wait for the latter stages of the fixture for Andrew’s best bet, as he heads to the 3.03pm contest.
3.03 Wincanton – Bradman (2pt win, 3/1 generally)
Bradman recorded a very fast time for the grade when landing a Class 4 handicap hurdle over the 2m3f trip at Fontwell 18 days ago. It was surprising to see him drift out to 14-1 that day as he’d also won well over the same track and trip on his previous start and, while a much shorter price this time, he looks value to complete his hat-trick. The five-year-old handled this track well enough when a 40-1 sixth (beaten by less than six lengths) over this 2m4f trip last March when the officially good ground wouldn’t have been ideal.
Chelmsford Racing Tips (Thursday 29 January 2026)
There’s another seven-race card at Chelmsford this evening and Andrew looks to kick off with a winner as he has a selection in the 5.00pm and then has an each-way pick in the 6.30pm race.
5.00 Chelmsford – He’s An Angel (1pt win – 4/1 bet365, William Hill, 888sport, 7/2 generally)
He’s An Angel has a fantastic record at this time of year, taking his form figures in January/February to 111151 (5-6) when scoring over 6f at Wolverhampton last time. The cut back to 5f is a slight concern today but his sole run over this trip on Polytrack, indeed his only run on Polytrack, produced a Lingfield win over this trip, and he should encounter a solid pace in this 12-runner contest.
6.30 Chelmsford – Aberama Gold (1pt e/w – 15/2 bet365, 7/1 888sport, 13/2 generally)
Aberama Gold came from further back than ideal when an 8-1 third of seven in a 6f Class 3 handicap at Newcastle last time on a day when every winner raced up with the pace. David O’Meara’s veteran has only raced at Chelmsford twice before, landing a Class 2 handicap before a second of seven in tonight’s Class 4 company when never able to reel in the all-the-way winner. He’s also run several good races at Lingfield – the only other left-handed Polytrack course in Britain – including a Listed race fourth on his latest such visit, and the return to this surface will suit.
