Wincanton Racing Tips (Monday 23 March 2026)
Seven National Hunt races take place at Wincanton, with Andrew’s best bet on the card lining up in the 2.45pm contest.
2.45 Wincanton – Jatiluwih (0.5pt e/w – 8/1 bet365)
Jatiluwih is well into the veteran stage of his career, but the 12-year-old caught the eye on his return from a 342-day absence when a 14-1 third (less than four lengths behind the winner) at Taunton late last month. It’s been a long time since his last success, but he was David Maxwell-ridden for the majority of his career and his best-of-the-closers 18-1 third at Newbury at this time last year also hinted that there could be another race in him before retirement. He’s likely to encounter the required decent gallop in this amateur riders’ contest and it will be disappointing if he isn’t in the first three.
Kempton Racing Tips (Monday 23 March 2026)
There’s alternative jumps action at Kempton on Monday, with seven races. Andrew’s selection for the meeting runs in the 3.30pm race.
3.30 Kempton – Thelasthighking (1pt win – 13/2 bet365)
Thelasthighking has been off the track for 483 days but tends to perform best in the spring and looks chancing despite the absence. The Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies-trained ten-year-old has form figures in March/April of 121156 (3-6) – he’s 0-11 in other months – and it could be worth forgiving those last two spring runs as he ran too badly to be in true in 2024 and was likely suffering from a physical issue that prompted the subsequent long layoff. The son of Roderic O’Connor has plenty of form when fresh and he ‘s effective over course and distance.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Monday 23 March 2026)
A bumper nine-race card takes place on the all-weather at Wolverhampton, with Andrew’s best bet running in the 6.30pm contest.
6.30 Wolverhampton – Samra Star (1pt win – 17/2 generally)
Samra Star steps up from Class 6 to Class 5 level after finishing forth over course and distance on March 10th but she clocked a fast time that day and it came against male rivals (the winner, runner-up and third were all geldings). Linda Perratt’s five-year-old has only ever won against her own sex and that latest effort took her score outside of fillies/mares company to 0-15. She won over he shorter 8.6f trip here on February 16th when last racing in all-female company, is 1lb lower this time around and could enjoy the run of the race if pacesetting is on the agenda.
