It’s an action-packed day’s racing on Sunday 18 January, as ITV Racing plays host to nine races from Windsor, Fakenham and Thurles. It’s the first two of those three meetings that Sunday’s GG Lucky 15 tips focus on, as we pick out our four best bets of the day.
It’s the final day of the Berkshire Winter Million Festival at Windsor, whilst Fakenham also hosts a decent card on what should be an entertaining afternoon.
Windsor Racing Tips (Sunday 18 January 2026)
A bumper eight-race card takes place at Windsor on Sunday, with the addition of the Hampton Novices’ Chase from Warwick adding more depth to the card. We pick out two selections from the Berkshire track here.
1.20 Windsor – Salver (1pt win – 2/1)
Gary & Josh Moore’s Salver was no match for Kitzbuhel in the Grade 1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton Park, but the six-year-old can enjoy a slight drop in grade on Sunday in the rescheduled Hampton Novices’ Chase at 1.20pm. Prior to that Kempton run, where he finished fourth, he annihilated Doyen Quest by 12 lengths at Sandown, and that pair will do battle again here. There are lively rivals with Wade Out and Moon Rocket both catching the eye, but Salver should have too much speed for that pair and he can dominate this event from a fair way from home.
1.50 Windsor – Torneo (1pt win – 6/1)
Jamie Snowden’s Torneo finished behind Mighty Bandit and Highlands Legacy at Newbury last time out, but the consistent six-year-old can turn that around in the 1.50pm at Windsor. Whilst the aforementioned pair have been rising in the handicap, Torneo has been dropped 1lb and a mark of 125 in this cracking contest looks a workable mark. He has excelled in soft going before, so should enjoy the underfoot conditions at Windsor, and if Gavin Sheehan can hold a positive position just off the pace then he could well storm to the front late on and land the prize.
Fakenham Racing Tips (Sunday 18 January 2026)
There’s a 12.30pm start at Fakenham on Sunday with seven races going right through to the bumper at 3.45pm. Some intriguing betting heats will take place during the card and we pick out a brace of selections.
2.05 Fakenham – Apples Moon (1pt win – 3/1)
Nicky Martin’s Apples Moon and the Evan Williams-trained Princess Keri are both going in search of a hat-trick of wins on the bounce, and the in-form duo can fight it out for victory in the 2.05pm at Fakenham. The latter will be in receipt of a nearly stone from Apples Moon, but it’s Martin’s charge that makes more appeal. The seven-year-old was always doing enough when landing a Wincanton contest by a length and a 5lbs rise for this event may not be enough to halt the winning run.
2.40 Fakenham – It’s Easy (1pt win – 5/1)
Prior to being outclassed at Cheltenham last time out, It’s Easy was a facile 40-length winner at Bangor and a repeat of that for the Evan Williams mare can see land the victory in the 2.40pm contest at Fakneham. She’s 6lbs higher than that winning mark, so will need a career best to take this prize, but she just weakened up the hill at Cheltenham last time out, and lost plenty of places up the home straight. Dropped 1lb, she has to be given the utmost respect, now switching away from Cheltenham, and she’s looks an excellent bet in this race.
