Sunday’s racing is headlined by the concluding day of the Winter Million series at Windsor, with the Fleur De Lys Chase hosting plenty of recognisable names to racing fans.
In that race and others, Matty Sutcliffe provides his best bets across the Windsor card for you to follow below.
Windsor Racing Tips (Sunday 18 January 2026)
Windsor’s Sunday action concludes the Berkshire Winter Million series which has thrilled viewers this weekend. Matty has three best bets for you to follow on the third day’s card.
1:20 Windsor – LSL Racing Auctions Hampton Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (GBB Race) (Class 1) (5yo+) – Jeriko Du Reponet 13/2 1pt WIN
This is something of a win-win selection regardless of the outcome with Jeriko Du Reponet as he’s still very much on the radar as an Ultima candidate so they won’t want to edge that mark any higher at this stage, thus an eye-catching run in defeat won’t be too disappointing.
On the flip side, I’ve struggled to give credible chance to many in here. Salver returns after a fairly tough race in the Kauto Star Novices’, Moon Rocket is another likely aimed for the Ultima, Doyen Quest had his limitation exposed by Salver last time out, and I’d be surprised if Windsor was a suitable track for both Wade Out and Laurens Bay, who may find themselves flat out early on during this sharp test of jumping.
Jeriko Du Reponet went completely off the boil after his Rossington Main success in 2024, but his form once stepped up to three miles last season read 321, and he was ridden fairly ‘conservatively’ to put it kindly in the Exeter Pertemps Qualifier when third on his first try at the trip. Once equipped with cheek-pieces, he was second to stablemate Doddiethegreat in the Pertemps before reversing the form with that one at Punchestown.
He returned to chasing this season over an inadequate 2m2f at Kempton and was far from disgraced in second when not given a hard time behind Jax Junior, finishing two lengths ahead of Miami Magic who franked that form nicely when beating Regent’s Stroll next time out.
Jeriko Du Reponet was then second to Regent’s Stroll next time out in a match race at Wincanton and a cynic would suggest he wasn’t given a chance having somewhat completed the course in his own time, barely given a squeeze behind the winner for all he was only beaten four lengths.
The cheek-pieces are yet to make an appearance which would suggest he mightn’t be at full strength on Sunday, however if they were to mind his mark for an Ultima I wouldn’t have thought they’d be stepping him up to three miles in what looks winnable race. With that in mind and tin foil hat conspiracies aside, now he is stepping up to his optimum trip it would be no surprise should we see Jeriko Du Reponet in a much better light for a yard who’ve won this race twice since 2019.
1:50 Windsor – Fitzdares Extra Places Every Day Great Park Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 2) (5yo+) – Mirabad 3/1 1.5pt WIN
There’s a number of these in here who bring in intertwining form with the smart Mambonumberfive including Mirabad, who was a seven length third to that rival in the G2 Wayward Lad at Kempton giving him 6lbs. The race fell apart that day as Mirabad went a good gallop from the front and was collared by the eventual winner two out, only losing second by a head late on.
I thought we could massively upgrade that effort given how much he did on the front end and to still be performing well towards the end, and his aggressive style of racing could catch this field out. He jumped impeccably well on chase debut at Exeter pulling two length clear of 11/10 favourite Joyeuse and I’d expect Windsor to strongly suit given his winning form around sharp tracks like Wincanton and Hereford.
2:25 Windsor – Weatherbys Racing Bank Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 2) (4yo+) – Love Of Neymore 12/1 1pt EW 5 places
Robbie Llewellyn won this with Titan Discovery last season which immediately draws the eye to Love Of Neymore, who arrives off the back of a solid third in a similar contest at Cheltenham.
The Gentlewave gelding sat just in behind runaway leader Pike Road throughout, with the pair pulling several lengths clear of the chasing pack from the off. Pike Road was eventually beaten fifteen lengths, but I thought Pike Road ran a blinder to continue running all the way to the line despite doing plenty more early on than the eventual winner and second, only beaten four lengths into third.
She finished up behind two smart handicappers in Ma Shantou and Ace Of Spades there and it wasn’t out of turn, as he was arriving on the back of a game success at Chepstow having again fared best of the prominent racers, fending off the patiently ridden Champagne Chic who took a competitive 0-130 at Wincanton on Thursday next time out.
She’s evidently a progressive mare this season and given she carries no weight on this forecast softer going, her prominent style of racing could see her tough to pass.
