17:20 – Join Fitzdares For A Personal Service Nursery Handicap

Race Details: 5f | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This may only be a three-runner nursery, but it is no gimme. Undercover Affair brings the strongest body of handicap form and sets the standard on a mark of 94, while Jaijai arrives on the up after getting off the mark and still looks open to further progress for Richard Hannon. Terminology is the least exposed of the trio after just two starts and could easily have more to offer now switched into handicap company. Over this sharp 5f on quick ground, tactical speed and track position will matter plenty, so there is every chance this turns into a proper sprint chess match rather than a straightforward ratings job. It is a small field, but not a simple one, and the market has it about right.

Top Selections

1. Undercover Affair – 9/4 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Oisin Murphy | Trainer: David Evans | Form: 221423 | Rating: 94 | Topspeed: 90

Undercover Affair is the percentage call in a race where proven nursery form counts for plenty. He has been busy, but there is substance to what he has achieved, and that mark of 94 is backed up by a Topspeed figure of 90 which comfortably tops this field. The slight concern is whether he has become a touch exposed, but in a race lacking depth his consistency is a major asset. Oisin Murphy is an eye-catching booking and, from stall 1, he should be able to keep things simple over this sharp trip. At 9/4, he is not screaming value, but he is the one with the clearest solid claims. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

Betting Strategy

In a three-runner race, keep it simple: Undercover Affair is the win play. His rating and established sprint form make him the safest option in a contest where there is little margin for error. Jaijai is the obvious danger after his latest success, while Terminology is the unexposed one if improving again, but there is no each-way angle in a field this small.

17:50 – Fitzdares Novice Stakes (GBB Race)

Race Details: 1m | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This looks a fairly informative novice rather than a deep one, with the market understandably revolving around Levens Hall after a promising debut third and Leonardo Blu, who has already got his head in front. Asset adds a solid piece of placed form and sets a useful standard on the figures, while the likes of Colonnade and Esplanade are the unknown quantities trying to jump straight into the argument. Windsor’s turning mile on quick ground can punish anything green or one-paced, so tactical speed and the ability to travel should count for plenty. On balance, this does not look the trickiest puzzle on the card: Levens Hall has the profile of a horse who should improve a good deal, while Asset appeals as the value alternative if the favourite underdelivers.

Top Selections

1. Levens Hall – 8/13 with Bet365

Jockey: Robert Havlin | Trainer: John & Thady Gosden | Form: 3 | Rating: 93 | Topspeed:

He is hard to oppose. A debut third that already earned a 93 rating is a serious starting point in a race of this nature, and the Gosden team are masters at bringing a once-raced three-year-old forward for that initial experience. Drawn in stall 1, he should get a neat trip around here if breaking on terms, and Robert Havlin is well used to executing that patient, polished ride on one from this yard. At 8/13 with Bet365 he is no giveaway, but this looks the most likely winner on both substance and potential. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Asset – 11/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Luke Morris | Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott Bt | Form: 3-23 | Rating: 90 | Topspeed: 88

If you want to play against the short one in the places, Asset makes plenty of appeal. He has been admirably consistent, his form figures read well in the context of this field, and that Topspeed mark of 88 is the best on offer here. Prescott’s runners often progress with racing rather than flashy debut promise, and this one looks the type to keep finding under pressure. The slight concern is the wide-ish draw in 10 over this mile, but Luke Morris is experienced enough to manage that. Available at 11/2 with Bet365, he looks the percentage each-way punt. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Keep it simple: Levens Hall is the win play and the one they all have to beat. For an each-way alternative in a big enough field, Asset looks the sensible option given his solid figures and reliability. Leonardo Blu is the obvious danger after winning last time, while any market strength for Colonnade would be worth noting on debut.

18:20 – Ambrose Loves Reggae EBF Novice Stakes (GBB Race) (Div I)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This looks a fair novice rather than a deep one, with the market understandably focused on the runners who have already shown something and a couple of likely newcomers from powerful yards. Sovereigns High sets the standard on what little we have after finishing third first time up, while Magi Melchior also brings solid form to the table after a promising fourth and the best Topspeed figure in the field. Ferrystream and Mithaaly are the interesting debutantes, both prominent in the betting and very much respected, but in races like this I usually prefer a youngster who has already learnt a bit on the job. Windsor’s sharp 6f on quick ground tends to reward professionalism, so a clean break and the ability to travel will count for plenty. Tricky enough, but not impossible.

Top Selections

1. Sovereigns High – 15/8 with Bet365

Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck | Trainer: Ralph Beckett | Form: 3 | Rating: 75 | Topspeed:

Sovereigns High is the obvious one, but not in a lazy, short-priced-favourite sort of way. He shaped like a colt with a future when third on debut, and that bare form already gives him a slight edge in a race where several of the main dangers are still guessing games. Beckett’s juveniles often improve plenty for a first outing, and a mark of 75 suggests that debut was no throwaway effort. Drawn low in stall 2, he should be able to hold a handy position around here, which matters over this sharp 6f. At 15/8 with Bet365, he is short enough, but he still looks the most likely winner if taking the expected step forward. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Magi Melchior – 4/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Sean Levey | Trainer: Richard Hannon | Form: 4 | Rating: 76 | Topspeed: 69

Magi Melchior makes plenty of each-way appeal because his debut effort was better than a plain fourth might suggest. He already has the highest official rating in the field at 76 and a Topspeed of 69, which is a useful pointer in a race where most of these have either shown only modest form or none at all. Hannon’s 2yos are usually well drilled for this sort of test, and Sean Levey is exactly the rider you want on a youngster expected to travel and pounce late. Available at 4/1 with Paddy Power, he looks the value against the favourite if there is another chunk of improvement to come from run one to run two. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Sovereigns High is the win play because he brings the strongest piece of known form and should know more about the job now. Magi Melchior is the each-way punt at 4/1, with his rating and Topspeed giving him a solid platform in a 12-runner race. The obvious dangers are the well-fancied newcomers Ferrystream and Mithaaly, who could easily be smart enough first time out.

18:50 – Ambrose Loves Reggae EBF Novice Stakes (GBB Race) (Div II)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This looks a fairly ordinary novice on paper despite one very obvious talking point in Market Leader, who heads the betting on debut for Karl Burke and James Doyle. He could easily be useful, but taking short odds in a 2yo maiden-style contest at Windsor is never entirely pain-free. Of those with experience, Note To Self has shown the strongest form by some margin and sets the standard on a mark of 75, while Rex Regum and Kigali are the two that make some each-way appeal if building on limited starts. The rest have plenty to find on what they’ve shown. In truth, this isn’t a deep race, but it is a tricky one because the market has to balance solid existing form against the unknown potential of two or three newcomers.

Top Selections

1. Note To Self – 4/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Benoit De La Sayette | Trainer: John & Thady Gosden | Form: 57 | Rating: 75 | Topspeed: 45

He’s the one with the most convincing substance to his form and, in a race where the favourite is asked to do it all on debut, that matters. A mark of 75 is comfortably the best on offer among those who have run, and that Topspeed figure of 45 says the same thing in a different language. The Gosdens don’t waste too many bullets in these novice events and Note To Self should be better for two starts already. At 4/1, he makes plenty of appeal against a short-priced newcomer, especially if this turns into a proper six-furlong test rather than a sprint-and-stop. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Rex Regum – 9/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Tom Clover | Form: 9 | Rating: 61 | Topspeed: 38

Rex Regum is the each-way angle in a race where plenty of these have shown very little. He was only ninth on debut, so there’s no dressing that up, but his opening rating of 61 gives him a bit more substance than most of the outsiders and the Topspeed figure of 38 suggests there was at least a fair effort buried in there. Tom Clover’s youngsters can improve notably from first to second start, and Jack Mitchell is a positive booking around Windsor where track craft matters. At 9/1, he looks the sort who could outrun his price and sneak into the frame if the principals fluff their lines. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Note To Self is the percentage call for the win bet because he brings the best achieved form and doesn’t need guesswork. For an each-way punt, Rex Regum makes more appeal than the bigger-priced ragged types. The obvious danger is Market Leader, who could simply be smart enough on debut to blow this apart, while Real Bullet is another newcomer worth respecting.

19:20 – Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap (Windsor Sprint Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This is a proper Windsor sprint handicap: competitive, full of hardened 6f operators and just enough unexposed younger legs to keep it interesting. Amazonian Dream, Papa Cocktail and Under The Twilight all arrive with solid recent form and set a fair standard for the older brigade, while Bintola is the progressive 3yo who could easily have more to give despite a rise in class. An Outlaw’s Grace is another with respectable enough figures to get involved, but he does seem to find one or two too good. In a race where plenty have chances, the combination of pace, track position and who handles this quick ground best should prove decisive. It looks more tricky than strong, but there are still a couple worth siding with.

Top Selections

1. Amazonian Dream – 7/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Oisin Murphy | Trainer: Rod Millman | Form: 203572 | Rating: 86 | Topspeed: 80

Amazonian Dream makes plenty of appeal in a race where there are few secrets. He has been knocking on the door in similar company, his recent form reads well enough, and that Topspeed mark of 80 is the best in the field, which matters in a sharp 6f handicap on quick ground. The handicapper has left him on 86 and that gives him a very workable racing weight of 132. Oisin Murphy is no bad man to have in your corner around Windsor either, especially in these tactical sprints where getting the fractions right is half the battle. At 7/2, he is short enough, but still the most solid option.

Bet: WIN

2. Kiss And Run – 9/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Kaiya Fraser | Trainer: Rachel Cook & John Bridger | Form: 3-7253 | Rating: 86 | Topspeed: 76

Kiss And Run looks the value play if you want something at a fairer price. He has been running well without quite getting his head in front, but those recent placed efforts suggest he is holding his form and he is now down to just 131, which is a handy racing weight in this sort of contest. The draw in 11 is not ideal on paper, though it can work if they come stands’ side and he is the type to travel into the race late. His figures are competitive, his mark is not beyond him, and 9/1 feels a bit dismissive for a horse who should be staying on when others have cried enough.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Amazonian Dream is the straightforward win play given his consistency, top TS figure and strong overall profile for a fast-run 6f here. Kiss And Run is the each-way punt at the prices, especially with four places on offer. The obvious dangers are Bintola, who could still be improving, and the reliable Under The Twilight, who should be in the mix again.

19:50 – Find Us At fitzdares.com Handicap

Race Details: 1m | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This looks a properly competitive little mile handicap rather than a weak evening affair, with the 3yo pair Kalokalo and Knowledge taking on older handicappers who are fairly exposed but still capable at this level. Kalokalo arrives in obvious form and is the one they all have to beat after a string of solid efforts, while Cristo comes here off a win and has the plum inside draw. Bold Impact has been knocking on the door and Oisin Murphy catches the eye, and Tribal Rhythm is weighted to get involved if bouncing back from a lesser run. Windsor’s turning mile on quick ground usually rewards tactical speed and a clean trip, so draw, pace and who gets first run could be decisive. It’s not impossible to solve, but there are enough moving parts to make it interesting.

Top Selections

1. Kalokalo – 15/8 with Bet365

Jockey: Jason Watson | Trainer: Charles Hills | Form: -23121 | Rating: 84 | Topspeed: 65

Kalokalo is the solid one here. He has done little wrong in handicaps, with that recent form line of 2-3-1-2-1 painting the picture of a progressive 3yo who is still heading the right way. He won last time and now gets in here off 8st 5lb, which is a notable edge against some older rivals carrying plenty more weight. Charles Hills does well with these improving types and Jason Watson is a positive booking for a race where track position will matter. At 15/8 he is no giveaway, but he is hard to oppose given current wellbeing and the likelihood there is still a bit more to come. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Bold Impact – 4/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Oisin Murphy | Trainer: Rod Millman | Form: U04734 | Rating: 84 | Topspeed: 76

Bold Impact appeals as the each-way angle in a race where several are tightly matched behind the favourite. His recent figures do not scream certainty, but the latest two runs suggest he is coming to the boil again, and a Topspeed figure of 76 says he has enough raw ability for this grade. Drawn in stall 2 with Oisin Murphy taking over, he should get a handy trip around here and that could make all the difference. He does not have the upside of Kalokalo, but he looks more reliable than a few of these at the prices. Available at 4/1, he makes plenty of each-way sense in an eight-runner race with three places on offer. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Kalokalo is the straightforward win play and the one with the clearest profile for a race like this. For an each-way punt, Bold Impact makes more appeal than some of the similarly rated older horses thanks to his draw and Murphy’s booking. Cristo is an obvious danger after winning last time, while Tribal Rhythm is not one to dismiss if returning to his better form.

20:20 – Download The Fitzdares App Now Handicap (GBBPlus Race)

Race Details: 1m 2f | Class 4 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This looks a neat little seven-runner handicap rather than a deep one, and the market has understandably latched on to Silent City, who brings the most obvious progressive profile for Roger Varian after a solid return. He sets the standard on balance, but he is not facing pushovers. A Major Payne has been knocking on the door in similar company, while Morcar arrives off a win and has figures that suggest he is very much in the argument despite his age. Shady Bay is another with enough consistency to make life awkward from stall 1. Windsor’s turning 1m2f on quick ground often rewards tactical speed and track position, so this may be decided as much by the shape of the race as by raw ability. Tricky enough behind the favourite, but not impossible to unpick.

Top Selections

1. Silent City – 11/8 with Bet365

Jockey: Ray Dawson | Trainer: Roger Varian | Form: 2312-3 | Rating: 94 | Topspeed: 72

Silent City makes plenty of appeal in a race lacking depth. He signed off last season with a win and a second before returning with a perfectly respectable third, and that run should have sharpened him up nicely for this. Varian’s 4yo still looks the one with a bit more improvement in him than most of these exposed rivals, and a mark of 94 does not look beyond him if he takes the expected step forward second time back. The price is no giveaway at 11/8, but he is hard to oppose given the profile, the stable, and the fact this setup on quick ground should suit. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Morcar – 11/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Pat Dobbs | Trainer: Richard Hannon | Form: 8-0561 | Rating: 94 | Topspeed: 83

Morcar is the each-way angle at the prices. He is not obviously as progressive as the favourite, but he posted a useful Topspeed figure of 83 and comes here on the back of a win, which at least tells you he arrives in some sort of nick. Off 133lb he gets a handy pull at the weights with some of his main rivals, and stall 2 should allow Pat Dobbs to keep things simple around this track. The Hannon yard also runs Eupator, but Morcar looks the more solid option on what they have shown lately. At 11/2 he is the one who makes most each-way appeal if Silent City proves as good as expected. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Keep it straightforward: Silent City is the win play and the most likely winner if building on his reappearance. For an each-way punt in this seven-runner field, Morcar makes more appeal than the rest at the prices after getting back on the scoresheet last time. A Major Payne is the obvious danger if reproducing his recent consistency, while Shady Bay is not one to dismiss lightly.

20:50 – Fitzdares Handicap

Race Details: 1m 2f | Class 5 | Going: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick 7.7) (Watering) | | flat

This five-runner handicap revolves around a handful of unexposed 3yos and, for all the small field, it is not completely straightforward. Lady Milton brings the most solid recent profile after a pair of wins and two good efforts in defeat, while Bintsaleh remains open to improvement for William Haggas despite not yet quite putting it all together. Shadow Brigade has the services of Oisin Murphy and could easily leave his reappearance behind, but he does need to. Darn Hot Dame arrives with the best Topspeed figure in the line-up and gets in here with a handy racing weight, so she is far from dismissible. Impossible Mission is consistent enough, though perhaps a shade more exposed than the principals. It is a decent little Class 5, but one where current sharpness may count for plenty.

Top Selections

1. Lady Milton – 3/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Rob Hornby | Trainer: Jonathan Portman | Form: 11-123 | Rating: 83 | Topspeed: 67

Lady Milton is the percentage call in a race lacking much depth. She has done little wrong this season, following up her two wins with a pair of seconds before again running well in third last time, and that profile suggests she is holding her form better than most of these. An opening mark in the low 80s has not stopped her being competitive and there is no obvious reason why this return to 1m2f should inconvenience her. Rob Hornby knows the filly well and she looks the one most likely to run her race from the front half of the market. At 3/1 with Bet365, she makes plenty of appeal in a tactical little contest.

Bet: WIN

Betting Strategy

In a five-runner race, keep it simple: Lady Milton is the win bet. She has the most reliable recent form and fewer questions to answer than the rest. Bintsaleh is the obvious danger if stepping forward for Haggas, while Darn Hot Dame has enough speed figures to make things interesting off a light weight.
