10:30 – First Furnishings’ Front Runners Handicap

Race Details: 1m 6f | Class 5 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

This may only be a four-runner affair, but it has a fairly obvious focal point in Mountbatten, who arrives with the classic Prescott profile of a lightly-raced 3yo improving sharply once sent handicapping over a trip. Kelly Burn sets the form standard on bare numbers and has at least shown consistency, while Leonato still has a bit to prove after failing to build on his handicap debut last time. Queen Of Astolat gets plenty of weight and wasn’t disgraced when third on her latest start, but she looks more exposed than the likely favourite. In truth, this isn’t a deep Class 5 and it could come down to whether Mountbatten has as much in hand as his stable’s runners often do at this stage.

Top Selections

1. Mountbatten – 8/11 with Bet365

Jockey: Stevie Donohoe | Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott Bt | Form: 877-1 | Rating: 83 | Topspeed:

Mountbatten is hard to oppose. The form figures don’t look flashy at first glance, but that latest success told a much more important story: once stepped up in trip and sent into handicap company, he found the improvement you would expect from a Sir Mark Prescott runner. An opening mark of 83 may not stop him if that win was only the start, and this 1m6f should suit just as well, if not better. In a race lacking depth, he is the one progressive sort in the field and the market has latched on accordingly. At 8/11 with Bet365, he is short enough, but still the most solid play.

Bet: WIN

Betting Strategy

Keep it simple in a race this small: Mountbatten is the win bet and the obvious one to beat. With only four runners and just one place on offer, there is no each-way angle worth entertaining. Kelly Burn looks the main danger on established form, but if Mountbatten progresses again, the others may just be playing for minor honours.

11:00 – British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (EBF Restricted Race Qual’) (GBB)

Race Details: 6f | Class 5 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

This looks a lively little restricted maiden rather than a weak one, with several fillies bringing useful early form and a few powerful yards introducing newcomers. Zigazig Ah sets the standard on what we have seen after finishing second on debut, while Jazzy Blue has the best published figures in the field and already looks the type to win one of these soon. Consultation and Rocsane have both shown enough to be firmly in the argument, and William Haggas newcomer Lady Rosalind is exactly the sort the market usually gets right. The puzzle is whether proven form beats potential here. On balance, I would rather side with the fillies who have already shown speed over 6f, because this track on good to firm can reward sharpness and professionalism.

Top Selections

1. Jazzy Blue – 9/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Paddy Bradley | Trainer: Charlie Fellowes | Form: 62 | Rating: 89 | Topspeed: 68

Jazzy Blue appeals most because her profile is the right one for a race like this: experience, clear improvement and the best figures on offer. She stepped up from her debut sixth to finish second last time, and that rating of 89 with a topspeed of 68 gives her a very solid look in the context of a Class 5 restricted maiden. She also receives 3lb from some of the more obvious dangers, which is no bad thing in a juvenile sprint. Fellowes can clearly ready one, but this filly has already shown enough to suggest she does not need to improve dramatically to take this. At 9/2, she looks a fair win play.

Bet: WIN

2. Consultation – 15/2 with William Hill

Jockey: Kaiya Fraser | Trainer: James Fanshawe | Form: 53 | Rating: 74 | Topspeed: 46

Consultation is the each-way angle in a race where a few of the shorter-priced runners may be compressed in the market. James Fanshawe’s filly has shaped with promise in both starts, improving from fifth to third, and there is a fair chance she is still learning her job. The bare rating of 74 does leave her with a bit to find on Jazzy Blue’s numbers, but she is going the right way and this looks the sort of contest where a straightforward, progressive filly can nick a place at the very least. Available at 15/2, she makes more appeal as an each-way punt than some of the sexier but less proven newcomers.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Jazzy Blue is the win bet on the strength of the best form and figures in the field, and she looks the safest option in a race full of guesswork around the newcomers. Consultation is the each-way alternative at the bigger price, with enough progression in her profile to hit the frame. Zigazig Ah is the obvious danger, while Lady Rosalind is the one to fear if the Haggas debutante is straight enough first time.

11:30 – Winning Experience With Moulton Racing Handicap

Race Details: 1m | Class 4 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

This looks a fair little 1m handicap rather than a deep one, and the 3yos could well hold the key. Luzon Heights has been knocking on the door and gets in here off just 8st 13lb, while Ya Karim also appeals as an unexposed type with more to give in handicaps. Gorgeous Mr George arrives on the back of a win and is clearly in form, but he has to shoulder top weight off a mark of 84 and may not get things all his own way now stepping into a more competitive setup. Berry Clever is solid enough without looking thrown in, and Peel Park is interesting if Roger Varian’s colt can build on a few modest efforts. Tricky in places, but the younger legs look the percentage call.

Top Selections

1. Luzon Heights – 6/5 with Bet365

Jockey: Cieren Fallon | Trainer: William Knight | Form: 12-524 | Rating: 83 | Topspeed: 76

He’s the obvious one, but sometimes the obvious one is still the right one. Luzon Heights has been holding his form well, and that latest fourth suggests he remains on a workable mark of 83 in this company. The topspeed figure of 76 is one of the better efforts on offer here, and as a 3yo getting weight from the older horses, he has plenty in his favour around a track like Yarmouth. William Knight’s runner looks progressive enough for handicaps and Cieren Fallon is a positive booking for a colt who should travel well and go close. At 6/5 he isn’t a gift, but he’s still hard to oppose. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Peel Park – 7/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Roger Varian | Form: 06-675 | Rating: 83 | Topspeed: 62

Peel Park is the one at a bigger price who makes a bit of each-way appeal, especially with the Varian yard capable of finding improvement in this sort of 3yo handicap. The bare form figures don’t leap off the page, but he’s been running in a way that suggests a mile handicap like this could suit better if things fall right. Off the same mark as Luzon Heights but with only 8st 2lb to carry, he’s not badly treated if he can put his best foot forward. Jack Mitchell is a strong booking and the 7/1 on offer looks fair in a race lacking depth beyond the principals. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Luzon Heights is the win play and looks the most likely scorer given his recent consistency, weight pull and stronger speed figure. For an each-way punt, Peel Park makes more appeal than most at the prices as an unexposed 3yo from a top yard. Gorgeous Mr George is the obvious danger after his last-time-out win, while Ya Karim is another to note if the market speaks in his favour.

12:00 – QuinnBet Classified Stakes

Race Details: 1m 2f | Class 6 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

This doesn’t look a deep classified by any stretch, but it does have a fairly clear shape to it. The market is understandably centred on the two 3yos, Raise The Stakes and Mist Of Time, with the former arriving off a much more encouraging second and looking the one with the most obvious upside. Zafaan sets the standard among the older horses on ratings and previous figures, though he returns from an absence and has had plenty of chances at this level. Ibiza Lights is another lightly raced 3yo who could step forward, while exposed types such as Sunset In Paris and Rokuni make only limited appeal. It’s not a strong race, but it isn’t a complete minefield either if you trust the younger legs.

Top Selections

1. Raise The Stakes – 13/8 with Bet365

Jockey: Cieren Fallon | Trainer: William Knight | Form: 60-092 | Rating: 60 | Topspeed: 12

He looks the percentage call. That latest second was his first piece of form that really suggested he’s ready to win one of these, and in a race where several of these are either exposed or badly out of sorts, that matters. He gets in here as a 3yo receiving weight from the older runners, and William Knight has another live one in the field, but this is the stable runner with the clearest recent case. Cieren Fallon is a positive booking and if Raise The Stakes builds even slightly on that latest effort, 13/8 is perfectly fair rather than cramped. He holds strong claims in a weak race. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Mist Of Time – 6/1 with William Hill

Jockey: Harry Davies | Trainer: William Knight | Form: 005-8 | Rating: 56 | Topspeed:

The each-way angle is Mist Of Time, another from the Knight yard and one who still has a bit more scope than most of these. His form figures don’t scream reliability, but he’s only had four starts and his reappearance eighth may well have been needed. In a Class 6 classified over this sort of trip, unexposed 3yos are often the ones to keep with, and he’s far less exposed than old hands like Sunset In Paris or Zafaan. Harry Davies is more than capable of getting one settled and produced late, and 6/1 looks a workable each-way price in an eight-runner field where plenty have obvious holes. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Raise The Stakes is the win bet and makes most appeal on the back of his recent runner-up effort, especially with the 3yo weight pull in his favour. For an each-way punt, Mist Of Time looks the value against exposed older rivals. The main danger is Zafaan, who has the figures to feature if ready after his break, while Ibiza Lights is another unexposed one worth noting.

12:30 – QuinnBet Best Odds Guaranteed “Confined” Handicap (For Horses Which Have Not Won In 2026)

Race Details: 7f | Class 5 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

This looks a fairly tight little confined handicap rather than a deep one, and the market has understandably latched on to the unexposed 3yos. Kimbara brings the best rating in the field and arrives off a solid second, while Raging Raj and Generous Rascal also have the sort of recent form that makes them serious players getting weight from their elders. Rogue Allegiance is the obvious danger among the older horses after two placed efforts, but he has had enough chances now and isn’t crying out to be backed at a short price. Mister Mojito is capable on figures but has become frustrating, while Red Hat Eagle and Ecclefechan need to find more. In a race like this, a bit of upside and a handy draw could count for plenty.

Top Selections

1. Kimbara – 2/1 with William Hill

Jockey: Saffie Osborne | Trainer: Richard Spencer | Form: 4462 | Rating: 82 | Topspeed: 62

Kimbara makes plenty of appeal in a race where the younger legs may well dominate. He posted his best effort yet when runner-up last time, and that form reads well enough for this level given he now drops into a confined contest against exposed older handicappers and a few fellow 3yos who still have something to prove. An opening mark of 82 doesn’t look lenient, but it does make him the joint classiest horse in the field and there should still be a bit more to come after only four starts. At 2/1 he’s not a giveaway, but he is the most likely winner and hard to oppose. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Raging Raj – 13/2 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Cieren Fallon | Trainer: Jane Chapple-Hyam | Form: 12-763 | Rating: 78 | Topspeed: 74

Raging Raj looks the value angle if you want something against the favourite. He shaped much better when third last time, suggesting he is coming to the boil again, and that Topspeed figure of 74 is one of the stronger numbers on offer in this line-up. The inside draw in stall 1 could be a real asset over this trip at Yarmouth if Fallon can get him into a smooth rhythm early, and he gets in here off just 132. There is enough in his profile to think he’s still learning his trade a bit, and 13/2 feels fair for a colt who doesn’t need to improve dramatically to hit the frame and possibly better. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Kimbara is the win play because he has the strongest recent profile and still looks capable of progress in this company. For an each-way punt, Raging Raj makes more appeal than the shorter-priced Rogue Allegiance, especially from stall 1 with a solid recent third behind him. Rogue Allegiance is the obvious danger, while Mister Mojito is one to note if bouncing back.

13:00 – QuinnBet Daily Free Bet Fillies’ Handicap

Race Details: 6f | Class 5 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

A compact fillies’ handicap, but not a straightforward one. With Q T Pie a non-runner, this boils down to a five-runner puzzle between lightly raced 3yos and a couple of older mares with solid handicap form. Roger Varian’s Egotistical is the obvious starting point on ratings and gets a useful weight-for-age edge despite already being on 75, while Always Perfect appeals as the unexposed one after a string of honest efforts in stronger-looking races. Sahana arrives on the back of a good second and is drawn to get a handy sit, but she does look a touch more exposed than the younger pair. Cameley Days is admirably reliable without screaming upside, and Fantasy Obsessor has place form but needs more. It’s a tidy little race rather than a deep one, and tactical speed could decide plenty over this sharp 6f.

Top Selections

1. Egotistical – 11/4 with Bet365

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Roger Varian | Form: 3-2317 | Rating: 75 | Topspeed: 64

The most interesting angle here is that Egotistical is a 3yo already operating to a useful level and still gets in off just 135. Her form figures are solid enough, with that recent win reading well in the context of this race, and I’m not going to get too hung up on the latest seventh if things didn’t fall quite right. Varian’s filly has the profile of one who can still edge forward again, and Jack Mitchell is a positive booking in a race where positioning will matter. At 11/4, she looks the one with the right blend of current ability and untapped progress. Bet: WIN

Betting Strategy

Keep it simple in this reduced field. Egotistical is the win play, as she brings the strongest upside and doesn’t need much improvement to take this. Always Perfect and Sahana are the obvious dangers if the favourite underperforms, but in a five-runner race there’s no each-way angle worth forcing.

13:30 – quinnbet.com Classified Stakes

Race Details: 6f | Class 6 | Going: 5.8) (watering) (rail movements (Good to firm (goingstick) | | flat

This is hardly a deep Class 6, but it does look a winnable little sprint for one of the better-treated runners rather than a complete lottery. The older exposed pair Coolagh Magic and Sir Rodneyredblood bring the most reliable recent form, while Valadero is the one with a bit more upside if bouncing back from two quiet runs this year. The three-year-olds get weight, but Bear Steps and Wondrous have shown very little, and Shining Guest is the more interesting of that trio after just three starts. Over a sharp 6f at Yarmouth on quick ground, track position and the ability to travel smoothly should count for plenty. It is not a strong race, but there are enough angles here to make it a mildly tricky puzzle.

Top Selections

1. Valadero – 3/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Harry Davies | Trainer: Brian Toomey | Form: 506-78 | Rating: 58 | Topspeed: 57

Valadero gets the nod because this is a very ordinary race and his old speed figure stands out a mile in this field. He has not shown much in two runs back this season, but those efforts came after a break and he now drops into a basement-level classified where a mark of 58 gives him obvious claims. Harry Davies is a positive booking in a race lacking much depth, and if this one can travel with a bit more purpose early, he should have the class to pick these up. At 3/1, he is not a giveaway, but he still looks the most likely winner. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Shining Guest – 4/1 with William Hill

Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa | Trainer: George Margarson | Form: 67-6 | Rating: 55 | Topspeed: 27

Shining Guest is the each-way angle in a race where the younger legs could easily matter. He has only had three starts, so unlike plenty of these, there is room for improvement, and his latest sixth may prove better than it first reads if he builds on it now dropped into this grade. Silvestre De Sousa catches the eye in a small-field sprint where aggression from the gates can be a major asset, and receiving weight from the older exposed types is another plus. He does not need to improve a huge amount to hit the frame, and 4/1 looks fair enough for an each-way punt with only a handful of realistic contenders. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Valadero is the win play because he has the strongest piece of raw form in a race full of modest handicappers and exposed sprinters. Shining Guest makes most appeal as the each-way option, mainly because he is unexposed and gets weight from the older horses. The obvious dangers are Sir Rodneyredblood, who is consistent enough for this grade, and Coolagh Magic, who does not need much more to get involved.
