With only a couple of days until the Cheltenham Festival, Andrew Mount is looking to unearth some winners to head into the four-day National Hunt extravaganza in top tipping form.
He has two selections for the action at Warwick on Sunday 8 March, so check out his best bets for the day here.
Warwick Racing Tips (Sunday 8 March 2026)
Eight races take place at Warwick on Sunday, with a 1.40pm start. The action goes right through until 5.23pm, with Andrew’s best bets running in the 3.10pm and 4.48pm races, respectively.
3.10 Warwick – Ilitch (1pt win – 9/2 BetVictor, Paddy Power, 4/1 generally)
The inside of the hurdles course was badly churned up by the time of the 3m Class 4 handicap hurdle at Doncaster’s meeting on January 23rd and those who raced wide enjoyed a clear edge. Front-runners often migrate to the inside rail, but Brendan Powell did a fine job in keeping 2-1 chance Mask Of Zorro away from the ‘swamp’ and Joe Tizzard’s six-year-old duly made all. Runner-up Ilitch, sent off as the 6-4 favourite, did well to go down by just one length after challenging on the inner and was the one to take from the race. Fourth-placed Milan Park, beaten by 37 lengths, also took the inside route and he improved his Racing Post Rating by 33lb when a 14-1 third at Kelso next time. Ilitch won’t be inconvenienced by the cut back in trip to 2m4f and is worth a bet.
4.48 Warwick – Loup De Maulde (1pt win – 13/2 generally)
Hat-trick seeker House Of Habsburg holds obvious claims but at the prices I’d rather side with Loup De Maulde, who shaped well after a 690-day absence when a 33-1 seventh of 18 in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last month. Robbie Llewellyn’s nine-year-old was a soft-ground Taunton winner on his latest chase assignment, is 1lblower this afternoon and while mostly campaigned right-handed, he did win by six and a half lengths in a handicap hurdle on his only previous course visit. Second time back after a 150+ day layoff is often when to side with the yard’s jumps handicappers, with eight winners from 41 qualifiers for a profit of £51.07 to a £1 level stake at SP.
