Betting Forecast
7/1 Avowed, 12/1 Emaraat, 33/1 French Artist, 5/1 Fulcrum, 8/1 Hamrin, 3/1 Leading Role, 5/1 Mythical Tale, 8/1 Playing Card, 100/1 Seagoing, 7/1 Shared Odyssey, 12/1 Space Bob
Verdict
Shared Odyssey sets the standard and may progress further, while Hamrin is surely better than he was able to show on his debut, but there are some newcomers of serious interest on show. Avowed, Space Bob, Fulcrum and Emaraat all need a market check but the Charlie Appleby-trained Mythical Tale and LEADING ROLE appeal most. Riding arrangements point to Leading Role being the main hope.[Paul Smith]

10/1 Captain Teague, 4/1 Georges Lad, 7/2 Tamarind Bay, 8/11 Tutti Quanti
Verdict
Paul Nicholls’ 6yo TUTTI QUANTI made up into a very smart hurdler last term and appeals as the sort to do even better over fences this season so is taken to make a winning start. Captain Teague failed to fire over hurdles last season but was a Grade 1 novice hurdle winner at his best and could emerge as the chief threat now back over fences starting out for Dan Skelton. Both George’s Lad and Tamarind Bay can’t be discounted either in this fascinating Listed novice chase.[Peter Entwistle]

7/1 Apples Of Bresil, 13/8 Croke Park, 4/5 Gorgeous Tom, 40/1 Smallcraftwarning
Verdict
This looks like a penalty kick for GORGEOUS TOM, who arrives here on the back of an excellent third in the Galway Plate. Croke Park won two Grade 1s as a novice but has plenty to prove now. Nonetheless, he looks the biggest danger to the selection. Apple’s Of Bresil is entitled to respect given he does arrive in good heart, for all he has plenty to find on ratings. [Adrian Wall]
