Willie Mullins has already enjoyed plenty of success at Listowel this week with six winners, including a hat-trick on Kerry National day.
Mullins began the week with three winners, with Run Ted Run remaining unbeaten for the H O S Syndicate. One time Betfair Hurdle favourite Ocastle Des Mottes continued his improvement over fences, and Green Hint justified strong support in the bumper.
Ebor favourite Love Me Tender made a successful hurdles debut by 20 lengths on Wednesday. Ballygunner Castle made it back-to-back Kerry National’s for Willie and Danny Mullins, before La Note Verte gave Simon Munir & Isaac Souede further bumper glory.
The Closutton general fires nine bullets today, including two in the opening Mares Maiden Hurdle. Al Arrivee heads the betting for Paddy Mullins, looking to build on her third at Galway. Mojo Dama is the mount of Paul Townend, but she has to markedly improve from her Cork debut.
Townend and Mullins combined to win the Listed Lartigue Hurdle last season and they head the betting with Beauvallon. The Camelot gelding caught the eye in Grade 3 company at Galway last time out. Danny Mullins rides Kai Lung in the same contest, who has work to do with the favourite on that effort.
Forgotten Closutton faces make intriguing returns
Willie Mullins fires four of his darts in the Beginners Chase, a race he’s won just once in the last eight renewals. Love Me Tender, whose namesake won yesterday, heads the market for Harry Cobden and JP McManus. The Doctor Dino gelding went unbeaten in three this time last year, but failed to fire in the winter. He shaped as if he had the potential to build on his chase debut at Galway.
I Will Be Baie is a fascinating runner returning from 964 days off the track, last seen in the Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacy. Prior to that, his form figures read 12121 and he’s bred to improve for the switch to fences.
Jarrive De Me is another who missed all of last season, last seen when a beaten favourite at Galway in August. He looked promising in the early stage of his career, rattling off a hat-trick over hurdles. His winning run came to an end in the Grade 1 three mile novice at the Punchestown festival. He could be one for spring handicaps.
Largy Hill returns from a 945 day layoff, last seen beating Staffordshire Knot in Grade 3 company. His collateral form over hurdles reads strongly, and is an interesting proposition over fences.
