QUEEN ME – 1pt e/w (66/1 Paddy Power/Betfair, 50/1 generally)
QUEEN ME was sent off as the 6-4 favourite for the 6f Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Fillies’ Stakes at Ayr last September on the strength of her Lowther second to Swingalong but the switch to prominent tactics proved her undoing. She arrived late when going down by a neck at York – doing clear best of the hold-up horses – but was always up with the disputed early pace at Ayr and didn’t have enough in reserve to repel the closers. The 20-1 winner and 12-1 runner-up both came from well off the pace and her one-length third was worthy of an upgrade. We didn’t see her again until her non-staying ninth of 20 from a poor draw in the 1000 Guineas and she looks worth a punt now returned to sprinting.

COMHRA – 0.5pt win (28/1 generally) & 0.5pt without Tajiyra (12/1 Will Hill, 10/1 generally)
I was n with COMHRA’s 150-1 third to Tahiyra in the Irish 1,000 Guineas last time as she came from further off the pace than ideal, unlike the winner who was always prominent. She only went down by a length and three-quarters and a similarly tactics could see her get closer or even reverse the form this afternoon. I’ll split my stake between the win and ‘without the favourite’.
