ITV Racing is on ITV4 on Friday afternoon, with eight live races from two courses. Aintree provides five of them, headed by the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup, which has moved to Merseyside after Exeter’s West Country Weekend was lost to unraceable ground following the dry summer. The other three races come from Hexham. who will provide a trio of competitive betting heats.
Steve Chambers has delved through the form guide and takes a look at the live ITV Racing on 6 November and picks out his best bets.

13:50 Aintree – Read Meg Nicholls’ Blog At betmgm.co.uk Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) (2m1f)
LYSSENKO won all three of his starts last season and returns for Dan Skelton, with Harry Skelton in the saddle. He is the least exposed horse in a seven-runner field, and a horse who has done nothing but win is hard to oppose.
All In You is the obvious danger for Warren Greatrex and Sean Bowen, but he was pulled up and then fourth on his last two starts of last season. Lyssenko is the one to beat to land victory in the 13.50 contest.
14:25 Aintree – BetMGM ‘Future Stars’ Silver Bowl Novices’ Chase (Class 2) (3m1f)
Only three go to post, and ROYAL INFANTRY can get the better of his market rival, Klimt Madrik. The Skelton-trained runner is the highest-rated horse in the field on 147, and he arrives off the back of a win this season, whereas Klimt Madrik was beaten into second on his latest start.
Intosomethinggood is also a last-time-out winner, but he has 4lb to find with Royal Infantry on official ratings. Royal Infantry has the best form in the race.
15:00 Aintree – BetMGM Haldon Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Grade 2) (Class 1) (2m)
Mirabad sets the standard on form, but he races off 11st 6lb. RUBAUD gets 11lb from the favourite, and he is the bet.
Paul Nicholls is the most successful trainer in the history of the Haldon Gold Cup with eight wins, and Rubaud has the class to add to that tally. He won the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle at Wincanton last November, finished third in the Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and was beaten only a length and a quarter when second in the Kingwell Hurdle.
He pulled up in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham, but his return in a Listed hurdle at Carlisle last month was encouraging. He made the running and was only headed two out, eventually finishing fourth, beaten a length. He should come on for that outing, and back over fences with Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle, he looks well treated carrying 10st 9lb.
15:35 Aintree – BetMGM Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (Class 1) (3m1f)
Here Comes Georgie heads the market after winning on his return, but KAP VERT looks the most progressive horse in a 12-runner field. Philip Hobbs and Johnson White’s six-year-old won his final two starts last season and is on a competitive mark of 154, carrying just 10st 12lb.
He is the youngest horse in the race and has plenty of scope to improve on a mark that looks fair. He signed off last season by winning the Scottish Grand National at Ayr under Sean Houlihan, who keeps the ride, and a 3lb rise to 154 looks fair for a horse who travelled so strongly before staying on to win over nearly four miles.
