The market for this three-runner handicap chase is headed by 6-4 shot Duke Of Deception, a faller over course and distance last time. He wasn’t beat far at Kelso on his penultimate start but threw it away with an awkward jump at the last fence and he’s still to win after ten career starts. BEAT THE EDGE is also a maiden (0-11) but has improved since switched to fences, going close behind stablemate Court At Slip (winner again since) at Wetherby on Boxing Day and finishing just half a length behind the winner at Market Rasen last time where he rallied strongly after a mistake at the second-last fence. The first-time cheekpieces could eke out some improvement and he hasn’t had many opportunities on right-handed tracks.
