AINTREE 2.40
DO YOUR JOB – 1.5pts win (4-1 generally)
MILLERS BANK 0.5pt win (9-2 generally)

DO YOUR JOB, heavily backed into 11-8 favouritism, romped home in the Jordan Electrics Ltd Future Champion Novices’ Chase ay Ayr in April on his latest start. That Grade 2 victory took his record (including his point-to-point run) from late February until early November to 121122111 (6-9), compared to figures of 524F2 (0-5) outside of that period. He went close in Grade 1 company over hurdles on his only previous course outing and won on his reappearance last term.

MILLERS BANK is worth a saver. He did this column a good turn when romping home at 7-1 in the Manifesto Novices’ Chase over course and distance in April and can be forgiven his subsequent Punchestown flop on account of the return to a right-handed track and step up to 3m for the first time. It was also likely that the race came too soon (just 19 days after his Grade 1 heroics). His only other course outing saw him run third at 80-1 in the 2021 renewal of the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle and he was impressive on his reappearance last term.

I shall also be perming the above pair in a reversed forecast or Tote Exacta.

CURRAGH 3.10
MOSS TUCKER – 2pts win
(7/4 Bet365, 6/4 generally)
MOSS TUCKER fared best of those drawn in double figures and best of those to come from off the pace when a fine 39-1 fifth of 18 the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp last time. He kept on well after missing the break and will be happier in today’s much smaller field. His sprint record in fields of ten or fewer runners reads 31211323 (3-8), with the latest defeat by just a nose and the same. It may look slightly worrying that three of his four career wins have come at Tipperary and that he’s 0-4 here at the Curragh but he was an eyecatcher from off the pace when fifth of 18 in the Rockingham Handicap in June, again doing best of the closers, and he is effective at today’s venue.
