2.10 Naas – LUMINOUS LIGHT (1pt win – 4/1 Paddy Power + Betfair, 7/2 generally)

I wrote the following notes about LUMINOUS LIGHT in my GG eyecatchers column last month..

‘LUMINOUS LIGHT, fourth, 2m maiden hurdle, Punchestown, Monday, January 16th, 2023
LUMINOUS LIGHT, a winner on his debut for Mark Johnston in August 2021, failed to add to that success on the Flat but Monday’s fourth to Metamorpheus in the 15% Off Festival Tickets Maiden Hurdle suggests there are races to be won with him over jumps. Keen under restraint in rear, he travelled strongly but some curious decision making by jockey Denis O’Regan and a couple of late jumping errors saw him only get going when the race was all but over, finishing a nine-length fourth at odds of 17-2. He’ll be very interesting when switched to handicap hurdles.’

He goes handicapping today and is likely to step up on what we’ve seen so far.
