SOARING GLORY – 2pts win (15/8 generally)
SOARING GLORY (a non-runner at Newbury on Friday) makes his chase debut after a 288-day absence and has a fine record when fresh, recording form figures of 11111 (5-5) when off the track for at least 50 days. He’s three from three on his seasonal debuts and he won on both his bumper and hurdles debuts.
CARLISLE 2.00
MAID O’MALLEY – 1pt win (22/1 generally)
MAID O’MALLEY has plenty find at the weights but that was the case when the nine-year-old was 100-1 for the Grade 2 Mares’ Chase at Cheltenham last season, where she was in with every chance when falling two out. She jumped markedly out to her right that day, as she usually does on left-handed tracks, and she’ll be happier racing in a clockwise direction for the first time since her 2m5f course in February. She hasn’t had many opportunities on right-handed tracks, recording form figures of 2221 (1-4) and she looks worth a small win bet. I’ll be saving on her to finish second to the other three runners in the forecast.
