2.45 Curragh – BAY BRIDGE (1.5pt win – 5/2 generally)

It’s been a big advantage to race up with the pace at the Curragh this term, especially over 1m-1m4f, and it’s likely that Vadeni, 11-10 favourite for the Tattersalls Gold Cup, will be vulnerable in a small-field tactical affair. He came from last to first when landing the Coral-Eclipse last season, taking advantage of the faster ground away from the far rail, and has been beaten in all three starts since including on his comeback when fourth of seven in the Prix Ganay. BAY BRIDGE was a place ahead of him at Longchamp last time and Richard Kingscote, two from two on Sir Michael Stoute’s five-year-old is back on board (interestingly, Bay Bridge is three from three when Ryan Moore is not riding). He’ll probably sit in second place behind likely pacesetter Trevaunance and should be able to get first run in the straight.
