2:55 Galway – Saint Bernadette – (0.5pts E/W – 20/1 Bet365, 16/1 generally)

The hurdle/bumper meeting at Sligo on October 21st featured a strong track bias, favouring those who raced wide on the better ground. The bias became more significant in the later races, as the ground on the inside of the track became increasingly poached with racing. Consistent mare SAINT BERNADETTE raced much closer to the inside rail than ideal when a 10-1 third in a 3m1.5f maiden hurdle at that Sligo meeting in what was race five on the seven-race card. It was a solid effort in the circumstances and, though she’s 0-7 in her career and faces two rivals rated much higher, it’s far from impossible that one or both underperform on the prevailing heavy going.
