I wrote up MY GRANNY LILY after her third place in a mares’ handicap hurdle at Taunton in January where she did well to finish so close after helping to force a strong gallop. She made the frame in both subsequent runs and was especially eyecatching at Warwick last time, finishing a 10-1 fourth after forcing the issue and racing in the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail when the first three finishers were described by the Racing Post as ‘towards rear, raced wide’, ‘raced wide, held up in rear’ and ‘raced wide, held up in rear’. She perhaps doesn’t always find as much as looks likely at the business end but she should be able to dominate here and makes each-way appeal, especially if you have a Sky Bet account (they’re paying four places).
