A WAVE OF THE SEA, a three-time winner at the Dublin Racing Festival, clearly goes well at this time of year and is worth a small saver.
5.00 Newcastle – MIGHTY POWER (1pt win – 6/1 bet365, William Hill)
MIGHTY POWER did this column a 14-1 favour when successful in a 6f handicap at Newcastle last time and I see no reason why the horse he beat into second that day – Secret Guest – is shorter than him in the betting when the pair re-oppose over the same course and distance this evening. Stella Barclay’s six-year-old, a ten-race maiden on the Flat, is four from 20 on synthetics, including form figures over today’s track and trip of 81311 (3-5), with the other wins at 20-1 and 4-1.
