FFOS LAS 1.05
EASY AS THAT – 2pts win (7/4 generally)
Only two runners but a potentially vulnerable favourite in the shape of Knickerbockerglory, who might prove best right-handed. His record when racing in that direction reads 211311 (4-6), compared to a ten-length fourth (5-4 favourite) and 12-length last of five (6-1) from two goes in today’s direction.
EASY AS THAT has been off the track since February of last year, but Venetia Williams has a great record with her young (eight or younger) handicap chasers in November, scoring with 89 of the 394 qualifiers this century (22.6%) for a massive profit of £225.01 to a £1 level stake at SP. He did jump awkwardly on occasions over hurdles but has a three from five record, goes well when fresh and might provide a spot of value against the jolly on his chase debut.

SPREWELL – 1pt each-way (6/1 Paddy Power, 5/1 generally)
Progeny of the sire Churchill have a poor record on their juvenile debuts, with just two winners from 108 bets in Britain and Ireland (-£98.00 to a £1 level stake at SP). SPREWELL attracted support at big prices for a 1m maiden at Gowran last month, and Jessica Harrington’s 16-1 shot ran a cracking race against the pace bias (as usual, it paid to race on the front end at Gowran). He dwelt slightly at the start ran green in midfield, becoming unbalanced when switched wide for a run. He stayed on well to grab fourth, less than two lengths behind the winner, and is likely to take a big step forward today. The odds-on Aidan O’Brien favourite Sierra Blanca drops in class after his Group 3 runner-up effort but had a few chances before then and is now 0-4.

FANTASTIKAS – 1pt win (7/2 generally)
FANTASTIKAS faced some stiff tasks in Graded company after scoring on his chase debut at Lingfield last November, though did double his tally over fences when returned to Lingfield in January. His record over hurdles/fences, below Grade 3 level, reads 2221311 (3-7) and with current 6-5 favourite Pic D’Orhy 0-4 following a win since joining Paul Nicholls and beaten by a combined margin of 37 lengths when fourth of six and third of five in two previous course visits, he might be able to cause a minor upset.
NAAS 3.27
DUTCH SCHULTZ – 1pt e/w (12/1 Bet365, 11/1 generally)
LORD ERSKINE – 0.5pt e/w (33/1 generally)
DUTCH SCHULTZ was a reserve runner and failed to get into the Irish Cesarewitch on September 25th, but this 2m Premier Handicap could provide compensation. Gavin Cromwell’s lightly-raced five-year-old has scored twice in his career, both at about this time of year- on 23rd October 2020 when trained by Ralph Beckett and on 19th October last year when bolting up by eight lengths in a 1m6f handicap at Gowran Park. His 20-1 third to Echoes In Rain at Galway looks useful in light of the winner’s narrow second to Waterville in the Irish Ces and he’s worth a bet here.
Reserve runner LORD ERSKINE was only fourth when we bet him at Galway last time (the same race in which we also had the winner Chally Chute) but he switched from his usual hold-up tactics to pacesetting, which saw him race on the inside rail where the ground was much slower. That run is safely ignored and he’s worth a saver if getting into today’s race.
