TRALEE HILLS has rarely encountered his preferred slow ground this season and, as a result, connections resorted to running him on Polytrack, a surface he doesn’t appreciate. He was twice poorly ridden in amateur riders’ handicaps at Ffos Las in August – being given too much to do on each occasion – and again caught the eye from off the pace when a close-up 12-1 fifth to Pentland Hills at Haydock last time. He was a close third in this race 12 months ago on soft going and, while the forecast good to soft ground, is still a shade faster than preferred, he’s worth a small each-way dabble with Nico De Boinville, on board last year, again taking the ride.

Eminency, a winner at Windsor on his second start, was only fifth of 15 to Cold Case in a valuable sales race at Doncaster next time but that was a cracking effort in a 6.5f contest not run to suit his patient style. Galeron, best of the hold-up horses in fourth, bagged a huge pot at the Curragh next time and the winner gave the form a further boost when following up in the Two Year Old Trophy last week. Hopefully, he’ll be ridden closer to the pace this time and he’s worth a small interest.
