It was interesting to see Linda Perratt send REVEAL all the way to Lingfield for his handicap debut 11 days ago and the 10-1 shot acquitted himself well in third place. He wasn’t helped by trying to challenge on the ‘dead’ rail and the drop in trip and first-time cheekpieces could bring about improvement. The three-year-old has a useful middle draw and is worth a small interest.
8.30 Newcastle – SIXCOR (1pt win – 8/1 bet365, William Hill)
SIXCOR was only sixth of eight in a course and distance handicap last time but that was his first run for just over seven weeks, and it was probably needed. The six-year-old has a useful record in Class 6 races over the minimum trip on the all-weather, landing five of his 19 starts for a profit of £12.63. When returned to the track between eight and 18 days since his latest run those figures improve to 111235205151 (5-12) for a profit of £19.63, including an 8-1 win on his sole all-weather run under these conditions.
