Prominent racers (e.g. tracked/chased leader(s)) are 57 from 355 (16.1%, -£12.35), while hold-up horses have a shocking record, landing just 24 of their 460 starts (5.2%, -£306.70). Working out which horse is going to make the running is not always a case of just glancing at a pace map, as a change of distance, trainer, jockey, class or headgear, can effect things. There is no out-and-out pacesetter in this 3m6f handicap chase but the Venetia Williams-trained ACHILLE, better equipped than most of his rivals to handle the very deep ground, has made the running in the past and looks worth chancing at a big price in the hope that he’s given a prominent ride.
