KELSO 1.55
YOU SOME BOY – 1pt win (9/1 bet365, 8/1 generally)

YOU SOME BOY was beaten by 48 lengths at Carlisle on his reappearance last season but won his next three starts at 22-1, 6-1 and 3-1. All took place on left-handed tracks on good to soft or softer going and the return to right-handed Carlisle might have been the reason for his ninth place on his final 2021/22 outing (it’s also possible that he simply did too much too soon, as the first three finishers came from off the pace). He was beaten by 31 lengths over 2m5f here on his comeback 19 days ago but that run would have been needed and today’s the step up to 3m2f look sure to suit. There’s a chance he could be in receipt of an easy lead and he looks over-priced

THURLES 2.10
SAINT BERNADETTE – 1pt each-way (11/1 generally)

SAINT BERNADETTE raced closer to the inside rail than ideal when a 10-1 third in maiden hurdle company at Sligo last month and can be backed to break her duck in this 2m7f mares maiden hurdle. Riann, another ‘swamp dweller’ in that contest, was seven lengths back in fifth and he came out to win a Cork handicap hurdle last Sunday. Saint Bernadette was a non-runner at Limerick the other day as the ground was deemed too soft and can be backed each-way if allowed to take her chance.
