IOUPY COLLONGES will have lost a few friends after his odds-on defeat in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time but the Paul Nicholls-trained five-year-old raced in the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail when the outside of the hurdles track was clearly the place to be. That run was far better than it looked, and he can return to winning ways this afternoon.

I rarely back horses ridden by Hayley Turner, as she tends to have them too far back, but patient tactics are what’s required over the 1m4f trip at Wolverhampton and I’m assuming that SUPER MO will be switched off at the back now stepping up to this trip for the first time. He kept on well into third place over the 9.4f trip here on his penultimate start and though only fifth when 6-4 favourite at Chelmsford next time, he did too much too soon in the first-time blinkers and fared second best of those who were up with the strong early pace. Third-placed Flash Bardot, best of the prominent racers, came out to win at 11-1 on her next start.
